Hello Lads... Grin...!

I have recent problems with downloading video news broadcasts from News Sites using Windows Media Player.

Example: Kron4 News: I click on watch video broadcast. Windows Media Player pops up and connects to the site.
The CPU usage then rockets up to 100% and everything grinds to a standstill...!!
Task Manager then reports, "Windows Media Player not responding", with the fault "hungapp" (application hung) and I have to close it down.
I have a number of versions of Media Player and the fault occurs with all of them when using the application to watch news broadcasts.
It happens on both Firefox and IE browsers, and on all news sites.
It is normally very slow, but this is impossible...!!
Note: 56k Dial-up Modem.

This is what happens...>>>

...

...any ides, Lads...?

Cheers...!

Paul....starved for latest news... Cry...!

...the same problem occurs with Real Player, and even the News sites own players...

Reading the news is OK, it's watching it live on the video players where the problem occurs..!

I have all the back-up Windows Media Players from Player 2 to Player 10 and they all give the same problems with access to streaming News Videos....
No problems with playing music files...!

After recently re-installing my Windows XP Pro I wonder if I am missing some important extra files to enable Media Player to function correctly for this application?
I have all the Player file-types ticked off in Options.
(I also have Java installed).
And my security is set to default values in Internet Options

It's all very annoying...Wink...!

A couple of things come to mind-

Have you checked the players connection settings?

Are the players connecting to a broadband stream?
