Can anyone help me with how to install auto smoke / vortices to an aircraft?

Depends what kind of auto smoke. If you want engine exhaust, there are a couple of packages in the downloads here that will help. Smoke and afterburners can normally be found in most jet fighter packages. As for wing vortices; models such as those from iFDG have wing vortex effects included, but they have to be activated manually using the 'I' key. I have written a simple gauge that will turn wing vortices on at specific environmental conditions which I haven't published yet; it'll form part of an upload in a couple of months.
