The simviation logo when you first go onto the site hasnt been changed in a while. Why not have a 'Competition' to make a banner for the main entrance to the site. Just an idea though, up to the mods of course! Wink

Or maybe no reason it shouldn't, or we could create a reason it should Stormtropper.  Smiley..I agree Jake it's rarely viewed by us..but..enhancing it may attract more new members and sponsors...what do you say we ask Pete if he's interested in seeing some fresh ideas and if he is...then mrjake you're on..I'll be back.. The main page (www.simviation.com, without the /menu added) image was updated about a year and a half ago, from which it hadn't changed since SimVs conception.

Interesting idea ... I'd love to contribute to that Smiley

I'm a Sales & Marketing Manager, so these kind of things are sort of my every days work.

In my opinion there's nothing wrong with the characters in the logo (good/clear/strong), but if I had to say something about it, it would be that we loose the yellow in the logo. Blue and yellow have kind of a 'cheap' feel to it.

Example:

In The Netherlands we have this very cheap super market called LIDL. Their logo is yellow, blue and red and looks very cheap. That's what they want to be and their housebrand shows that. Obviously they've given it thought Wink If you compare them to one of the most expensive supermarktes in the country you'll hopefully see what I mean ... Their logo is blue & white and they use orange to emphasize ... pretty clever as orange appeals to a lot of Dutch people (orange is the typical Dutch (soccer) color; the familyname of our Royals is 'Van Oranje')

Blue and white are good strong colors and give more of a trustworthy & corporate feel. They would align more (better) with the SimV website. Also I think that the background of the logo could use a little more (FSX) flair ...

Maybe we could do a logo design contest along the lines of the screenshot contest.

But overall I think it's a neat idea Jake! I think that one should always think of ways to make [insert subject] better. Progression is good and we need our members to contribute to that.

Let's give it a thought. I believe that Pete would be open to these kinds of things.

It's a great idea & I've been thinking about this.

I have one central idea about how I want SimV to be portrayed but beyond that there could be some amazing things done by tallented folk here. Stay tuned for something SOON & thanks to Harrold for bringing this to my  attantion .. Smiley

So you both get my point ... Wink

If you compare them to Sainsburys in the UK or Ipercoop in Italy you'll probably see what I mean ...
