Hi Alrot,
I've send GCS by email to you.
No secret at all! We've got a new section:
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=studiov
For the shots I use GrabClipSave and The Gimp for reseizing.
Greetings,
Fabian

I've spent the last few months posting shots, not liking them, asking for advice, tweaking, posting again, not being satisfied again, tweaking again, posting again... (hoping to make it to the gallery one fine day...
...).
While I did make some progress, overall I feel possibly more confused than before on certain aspects of the process. There is one thing I have learned which I'm sure of though, and it's there is no easy peasy answer to the question "how do I make good screenshots".
A whole section has been created recently where you can post your stuff and ask for specific advice about this or that aspect, about how to improve a specific shot, or just read what the celebrated experts have to say about their work. That's the way to go. You can do good things even with a subpar rig if you learn a couple of tricks and are imaginative, creative or plain lucky
.
Oh and there's another thing I have learned: if you let your disappointment at your screenies take away the fun, it's time to backtrack a bit.

You're welcome, no problem!
Don't be shy to ask if you've got problems with your screenies.

In the moment I don´t do too many screens, so I do it with paint, and than resize them with Photodraw (Office 2000), that usually works good, and as we had to re formate our PC very often (Every 2 weeks or so...) after finally upgrading to XP, getting a screenshot program is just not worth the time...

Sometime when I took my screenies with paint it turned AA off. That's why I'm using GCS now, and hey, it's free!
It makes screenshottaking a lot quicker and easier I think, but that's just my opinion.
Cheers,
Fabian

Hey Alrot,don´t be mad.
No one here started making pics in 100% perfection. Its a process that you grow with.A little bit here,a little bit there. And so,time after time, you get used to it.Look at me,all new to FS9 and doing screenshots. Having also some probs with my (new) rig. I would also like to be 100% perfect. But its not possible at once. And so i say to you what i´m always thinking to myself."Never give up!"

I don't know if you count me among those that take 'beautiful images' but:
I use MGRAB to take the shots, and then just resize or at most crop them. I use photoshop for this. I don't play with brightness, sharpness or contrast, the shots I post are as I take them.
I've invested a lot of cash in my computer so that's probably the main reason why the shots are alright....sounds like you may need an upgrade, or some professional advice - ask in the hardware section, maybe.
I usually fly for the sole purpose of taking pics and take loads, only posting the best. I use VOZ, FSSkyWorld/Perfect Sky/Blue Sky/Perfect Water/Ashar's Water/Xtra Water for my freeware textures, and Recorder 1.2/F1 View for my freeware shots.
Hope this might help

Beautiful shots...depends what you call a beautiful shot...Some people liked my Easyjet shot that I posted a couple of days back...
No, I am not showing off by posting this pic...I just want to ask if Alex means he wants crisp images...or something besides that...
Tell me what ya think Alex and maybe I can help you out a little more
As for re-sizing et al, I use Photoshop CS2...Great for my needs and I love the Save for Web feature...
