Some may remember the recent flour bombs post here.
I was looking at X-plane as an alternative to that piece of malware they called CFS3. In doing so I soon found several conceptual similarities between (stress: speculative) FSX and X-plane.
It was said that the weapon profiling in FSX would be 'flour bombs' and that this could lead onto full damage profiles.
I am informed that whilst X-plane can load weapons, they DO NOT have damage effects and there are no kills on anything. X-plane state emphatically that theirs is NOT a combat sim, in-fact stop just short of labelling anyone wanting a combat sim as some kind of anti-christ.
There is also a lot of suggestion on the net that FSX copies some of the ideas from X-plane, if this is true it would be wise to hold back for a while if you are a serious combat modeller / developer. Flour bombs might be all you will get.

I doubt FSX will have a DP. The flour will probably just be an .fx file.

Something tells me its more than a .fx file. There was a recent picture of the FSX loading screen and it had the controls for a joystick on it... The trigger button for a joystick now drops the flour bomb instead of applying brakes.

Currently, it looks like the flour bombs r for the ultralight. And the screen where the trigger is to drop them, was at a convention, to let players try it.
Besides, do you think they've taken out the ability to change joystick functions?

Further to what I said when starting this thread about X-Plane as a comparison in any aspect, I would not recommend X-Plane to anyone. The tightly-knit 'community' there are hostile to newcommers and very insulting.

Just got e-mails from a couple of guys over there, asking me not to judge all against the actions of one who has no manners. I guess they can't all be that bad then.
