Hi,

For the last three years I have been running FS2002 Professional in the same way and have never had any problems running it on my Windows xp professional (if this is relevant?) bu suddenly yesterday the game goes to the loading screen as usual but before it gets to the select a flight screen it crashes back onto the desktop.

Is this a common problem and can it be fixed without a lenghtly re-installation?

I've never heard of this happening in FS2k2, crashing to desktop is a big problem in FS9, and I also had Fs2k2 for about 3-4 years and this never happened to me.

If you hav installed an addon recently, try moving it out of you fs folder, boot up and try again. If that doesnt work, looks like a re-install might be in order.

many problems when using WINDOWS XP can be solved by going to system tools, and using system restore, selecting a date to restore to that precedes the trouble Smiley

The most likely cause of the problem is something in your default flight. Try to think of anything you changed/added/deleted recently that could be the culprit. It's almost certainly something you did.

Just wait a few months....then get FSX. it will only be $10-20 more then 2004 right now.

I Like Flight Simulation!

As a last resort before reinstalling delete (backup first) fs2002.cfg.

Restart FS02.

The sim will create a new Fs2002.cfg file with default settings but it's better than reinstalling.

I'm not sure that works with FS2002. It's no problem to reinstall.
