Ok so Ive been around the forums for a fair while now, but am about to enter the screenshot comp for the first time. Ive read through to rules and am quite confused by it all to be honest so if somebody could confirm my following assumptions and answer my questions it would be greatly appreciated....
1) Resolution! It is said it must be 800 wide and no smaller than 600 high, does this mean it MUST BE 800X<600? can it be larger than 800 wide? would a screenshot 1280 x 1024 be accepted? how would I resize this to make it valid?
2) No cropping or editing, understandable, but am I allowed to cut out the tool bar at the top and windows task bar at the bottom? or would this invalidate m screenshot?
****I know there are programs that can take a screenshot minus the bars and I could also take the shot with FS in full screen mode, however this shot was taken a while ago and I wouldnt be able to recreate it*****

Ok i think theyre the only things I am unclear on. If anyone could help me out with sum answers it would be lovely

Hi jb_2_86_uk  Smiley I hope you don't mind if I call you jb?  Wink

I'd delete this post from the freeware forum and re-post it in the Studio V. You'll have a much better chance of getting your answers quickly for this topic in the appropriate forum.  Smiley

no need to delete, just let the mods do it, as far as i can tell thats all there here for  Wink Wink

Ok so for #1.  800 wide and no smaller than 600 high. thats quite simple, now does 1280 wide, and 1024 high sould like its within the rules? no. The 800 wide rule to so that these forums are read easy, if we had 1280 pics on here its would be wider than most screens  Grin Wink  so it must be 800 wide, and it can be taller then 600 but not smaller!  Grin

#2, no cropping allowed at all. so i wouldnt use that picture as the images must be made FOR the contest. And as you said you took it awile ago.

Good luck in the contest!  And rember, use the new section called Sim-V Studio-V  this question is perfect for that area.

To get rid of the menu bars just press 'Alt' + 'Enter' at the same time whilst in FS9 (before you take the shot), press them again to get back to Windows mode. Personally I always fly in full screen - then I just press 'Alt' to temporarily bring up the top menu bar if ever I need it.

A good free program for re-sizing is Irfanview.

Cheers,

NO EDITING whatsoever.   This means the menu bars would have to remain.  But don't quote me on this, as I think you should ask a mod directly with these questions.  Asking here is just looking for opinions in a sewing circle.
