A swedish economy paper wrote that a joint venture between France and Japan may come up with a successor to the legendary Concorde.

The first flight is scheduled in 2017, but so far not many details have been released (which is understandable since it's still on the drawing board), but a proposed cruise altitude of 75.000ft (23.000m) with 250 passengers on board.
Because of the high fuel prices the mach number will be lower, 1.6 compared to Concordes 2.0.
However the range will be twice as much, which means the aircraft can serve the Asian markets aswell.

Weither or not the aircraft will use kerosene instead of hydrogen is still an open issue.

It's too early to praise or dismiss this project, but it looks interesting.  Smiley

Another one of these "if" projects. There have been so many that I'll stay healthily sceptical until I see something substantial e.g. an aeroplane Grin

...
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!
