I don't know when I got the F-22 Raptor Demo but the 1st was an old F-15 sim on a floppy. Just before CFS2 was ready for release, I finally got CFS1 (on my 1st attempt I couldn't get anything off the ground except the Sopwith until I learned the keyboard; I had no joystick at that time). Found Jane's WWII Fighters on sale for @ $7 but preferred CFS1 (and Jane's ran too choppy on that computer). Got FS95 on sale, then got CFS2 but favored CFS1. Finally got FS98 on sale but still favored CFS1. Got CFS3 with a store rebate imposed on top of the Microsoft one; didn't like it and uninstalled it. Found FS2002 Professional in a sell out but haven't done much with it.

...in Fozzer's humble opinion, FS 2002 Professional* was the most successful/impressive up-date to all the General/Commercial  Aviation Flight Simulators.

"Pro Pilot '99" was fantastic for it's highly detailed Instruction Manual and Radio Navigation, but FS 2002 Pro was the best for graphics...!

*..still worth it for anyone who can't afford the later versions...Wink...!

Since the 1970's, when the first portable computers were designed and released to the public...Apple, Radio Shack, Sinclair, Oric, Atari, Commodore, etc...etc...
...when flight simulator? programs first appeared...

Using Zilog Z80/Z80A, Intel 8080, Motorola 6800, MOS 6502, etc, 8-Bit Central Processors... Grin...!

Those were the days when bedroom computer programming was fun... Grin...!

Paul...8-Bit Fan... 8)...!

Looks like we are both in the same generation when it comes to computer stuff. My first flight sim was MS Flight Simulator on the Radio Shack Coco. Remember that one with the green lines on a black screen?  Grin

Hi Matt.... Grin...!

In those far-off days every computer had green lines on a black screen...
...but you did have a choice of at least four colours...if you were lucky... Kiss...!

I loved programming the Zilog Z80A processor in full machine code.... Grin...an art which is sadly lost nowadays... Cry...!

Cheers Matt...
...don't forget the PC "old computer", Emulators...

Paul...always up for a "bit"...especially if there are eight of them... Wink...!

I've played FS98 as a wee lad; but I really got interested in aviation / FS in Summer '04, so this is my second year of serious simming.

Look at the date 2nd of February 2007....

now write it in the DD.MM.YY method and just look at the second digit of each, day month and year...

That should give you an idea... There were progress shots earlier, looking very good !

First flew FS in 1995 or thereabouts; crude but effective.
Sort of forgot about it for a while, then when I flew the full-scale partial mockup of the Wright Flyer controlling FS9 on a huge projection screen (at Airventure '03- I kept that sucker flying for about 90 seconds- best time of all the other guys in line! Boo ya!) I was hooked.
Flight Sim was what finally got me into computers... Grin
