I have downloaded the Detroit Metro (KDTW) scenery for FS2004 by Mike Magner.  It is installed but there are no gate jetways like shown in the photos that are included.  My scenery complexity is at extremely dense and I still don't know why there are no jetways.  What have I done wrong???  ???

You have to install Rwy12. Search for it here.

I found it here. http://www.simviation.com/fsdesign_scenery8.htm It requires 4 files and they are fairly big.

I have everything downloaded with Rwy 12, but due to my PC hard disc space (not much left) would like to know if there is a way to install only the jetway textures and uninstall the bulk of the program (along with most of the kits).  Can I still have my jetways with the program and the kits gone??

Yes, it's possible.

You do not need the Rwy12 program installed to see objects in FS9. You only need the 'object library' files installed and active in FS9.

Follow the instructions in the 'Library 1' download  to create the 'Static Objects Library' folder in FS9, with it's 'scenery' and 'texture' subfolders. To save space you can empty the subfolders but do not delete the folders.

My guess is the author is using S Ansari's Jetways. The needed 'library' files are in the 'Library 2' download as follows:

In the 'scenery files' folder: 'jetwaybn.bgl', 'jetwaygy.bgl', and 'jetwaywh.bgl'. Copy these files to the ....\Static Objects Library\scenery\ folder.

In the 'texture files' folder: 10 files, '1DCA*.bmp' . Copy these files to the ....\Static Objects Library\texture\ folder.

You'll have to activate the 'Static Objects Library' in your FS2004 Scenery Library.

If the scenery uses other Rwy12 objects they will not show until their 'library' files are also added to the 'Static Objects Library'.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.          Igor Sikorsky
