I use AVG Free now. As far as I can tell it just sits there and does nothing. It doesn't do a scan inless I ask it to. It doesn't download updates intill I tell it to. In all it's perfect and well behaved. Grin

Whats more with it runnng my computer doesn't take the best part of a week to shut down. Smiley

AVG Free can be set to scan on a daily schedule and the update manager can be enabled through the Windows Task Manager.  Wink

But, this is straying off topic.  Lips Sealed

If you want to turn off your computer.

Go start---->run--->type "cmd" without quotes.
Then type shutdown /s       .

That should turn it off! Another way is to end all SVCHOST.exes runnning.

To turn off your computer by pressing Alt-ctrl-end, do this: Create a shortcut, when the Window appears enter "shutdown /s -t 15" without quotes into the box.

Press Next and then finish. Right click on the shortcut file and go into properties and change the shortcut keey to Alt-Ctrl-end.

Done Wink

Hope this helps  Grin
