Aerial Foundry's F 18 over the Grand Canyon.
This image is composed of 3 seperate images, 1 of the F-18 over the ocean so I could just remove the blue around it.
1 of the F-18 over land for the canopy.
One of the Grand Canyon taken from Google Earth.
Hope you like it.  Smiley

Yer I have to agree, the edit on the F-18 is very impressive though!

I like it a lot, it doesn't look like the real canyon but it could be somewhere else, fine effort. I wish I knew how to 'cut out' aircraft quickly, it seems so time consuming...

Yes, it is..........

I absolutely HATE editing "multi angle"(more than 15) aircraft

nice edit. ive been looking for that particular paint scheme for some time now. the scenery could be better, but excellent blending. well done Smiley

VFC-13, IIRC. topgun adversary squadron, the plane's painted to look like a SU-27(?) from a distance, including the aux intakes painted on in black. i have a pic in my house somewhere of me with a few planes from VFC-12 and -13

Thanks for the comments,
I know that's not the greatest Grand Canyon, it was from Google Earth, I'm not sure where they get their elevation data. I actually thought it would come out a little better than it did, but oh well, it was an experiment.
As far as cutting out and pasting the aircraft, that was also an experiment. It wasn't as tricky as I thought it might be.
I already had gotten the background pic, so I just skewed the plane to a spot in FS that had similar coloring and took a screenshot so I could use that shot just for the canopy.
Then I skewed over the ocean to get a blue background to be able to cut out the rest of the plane. then it just as simple as using the magic selection tool in Photoshop to select everything blue and delete it, that also deleted the blue in the canopy.
Hence the need for the two screen shots.
I cut out the the canopy of the first shot and pasted it to the canopy of the second shot.
Then I cut and pasted the entire edited aircraft to the background pic and blended the edges.
As far as editing the background, I selected the close hill, and added quiet a bit of motion blur, the I inverted the selection and applied just a little motion blur, to give the illusion of distance. I blurred the background because the camera was focased on the F-18.
I would love to find a GREAT scenery addon of the Grand Canyon.
