Fast as usual here.
Probably a routing problem, not a webserver-side issue.

Even though I do not know how this forum is set up it might have something to do with the amount of people using a dial up to connect with. I have belonged to other forums where that can cause a slow down. I also noticed a slower connection speed last week but since I am at work it could have been something on my end that was slowing it down. With all the security and everything I know that can cause a slow down 8)

Like the others have said, no problems here. In fact, quite the reverse.

Knowing Nick, I'm almost sure he has no malware whatsoever  Wink
Prolly a routing or DNS issue as I said earlier = nothing to do  Smiley

1. I know where I posted the thread.. I expected it to be moved and bee seen quickly

2. I am in Seattle, WA. If anyone else in in my area, please post back about the simV site behavior.

3. LOL  What's Spyware?   LOL

It could be a Qwest.net issue... I was just letting it be known in case it is a SimV problem.

We seem to be running okay so I'd say time to scream at your ISP mate Wink
If it makes you feel any better my ISP service has been poo since I moved! After a LOT of screaming I'm slowly getting better service....

I'm on a dedicated 10MB/s corporate line... no other site is showing the problem. It is possible other sites on the same server or route as SimV have same issue from qwest but I have not investigated it that far yet.

thanks..  Grin

Dr. Ozzy says go round to their place and tie them onto their big executive leather chairs!
Then remove their shoes and socks and insert wads of tissue paper between their toes and play with your box of matches!
Of course I'm a looney... however this sort of threat always works with my ISP... 'cos they KNOW I'd do it Shocked Grin

I posted it in the main area so it would be seen quickly by admin.... and also, this would be seen by all:

Moved: NOTE TO ADMIN...

That way it will be seen by just about everyone and if the problem is not local to me, someone else could speak up.

Surely you could tell that line was a joke Nick, I thought the use of the words '2002 Forum', the use of the smiley ' Grin', & my next sentence beginning with the words 'On a serious note' would've indicated that.

I'm very aware how easy it can be to mis-read something's meaning in text, but I did leave three glaring clues so you wouldn't take it the wrong way.

If all else fails I suggest you take a peek at the red text in my sig Wink. No offense was intended in the post, it was just a harmless joke.

Cheers,

TSC.

I used to have 450 odd emails in my inbox before I deleted them Jake (no difference after deletion to normal site posting)- so I don't think that is the cause of the slow down. As others have said it must be his end - Simviation has always run like a Farrari for me.  8)

Here's the deal ozzy... right now I'm bouncing off a server in the country Jordan.. I could tell you where, but then I would have to kill you.  Tongue

SimV is running very fast, especially since I am running through Jordan to get back to the USA. What is strange about it is that if I go to Newegg.com through Jordan, it's slow.. but SimV is fast.

It's not the SimV site... It appears to be related to a connection between Qwest and the east coast but why only SimV is affected is a mystery at this point.

EDIT: It appears I am having the same problem with AVSIM now... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

For the last 2-3 days I've been having problems with SimV & AVSIM also. I'm in Louisiana, if that helps with tracking the routing.

Nick, if you solve it, please post the solution.

The problem seems to be solved this morning. Yesterday AVSIM and SimV were both equally affected by the issue. When one was slow or down, the other was as well. They would both come back up or go down at the exact same time.

Ozzy, do you know if SimV and AVSIM have any common net or server connections?

It was a connection that leads to both sim sites in the USA, possibly in VA or NC

Both SimV and AVSIM are on the exact same server in VA

Not the same server. Just happens that we share the same hosting company - by sheer co-incidence.
