Ya know how at airshows and stuff MS brings FSX and shows a 'demo' of the game?  And ya know how we can get the Vista beta as an enthusiast?  Well why cant we get the demo of FSX?  Maybe we will later....

i dunno how you could demo a flight sim..

"you can only fly 10 miles before your computer blows up, and for the demo the 100,000ft limit of FS9 is re-instated to 20,000ft HA! oh and you can only fly the glider and you dont have slew!!!" Wink

ok now seriously Grin it would be weird, and i have no idea how it would be done. As far as i know there have been none in the past so i doubt there will be one now.

Yeah, there should be a demo!

To stop you from getting the full game, delete the high resolution mesh, and all the outside of the demo area scenery .bgls. That way, if you fly out of the demo area, nothing happens just the ground turns to water Smiley

Maybe time limit it to half an hour too?

Did you guys read my whole post?  I clearly said to give the missions they demo at fairs and airshows.  To limit it only allow you to select the missions and time limit them

Xplane has a rather good demo that lets you have the full game with the state of california scenary and a time limit till the controlls are locked out.  A simlar demo for FSX would be great as it would allow me to check whether I need to sell my soul for upgrades or not  Roll Eyes

At airshows and fairs they use a beta of the game, not demo.

They could just give a full copy with all the neat stuff that the "full" version has...

But have a time limit to like 40 mins or something then when you run out of time you see a message "The Demo period has now expired, the Simulation will now close" Then you would have to buy the full version of course Tongue

just my two cents  Tongue

Cheers!

This is True.  Beta versions are used at demonstrations.  The problem is, that errors can occur as they are still beta.

For a demo release, they should limit the flying area to about a 50-100 mile radious of one of their detailed aiports and cities.  When you cross the 50-100 mile boundary, and keep flying you should see the airport you just flew away from!

This is seemless scenery, untill you know whats going on.  Like, if you travel north for 200 miles from the airport, you'll be right above the airport, you know, looping.  There should not be a limit to the scenery detail or aircraft effects tho.

...&&FS Water Configurator+ has new modifications in the works, plus DirectX 10, Service Pack&&1, and Radeon HD 3+ Series support.

Or just make you crash when you get to the end of the boundary

Looking Glass's "Flight Unlimited I" used a repeating scenery boundry which worked OK for a small area....
..but it was still a full-blown CD game.....(and therefore it would be a large download)... Shocked...!
