Before ,I invest in buying the "Track IR" I would like to get opinions from anyone that has used one or knows the pros and cons of the Track IR.
I have already read the good things the seller says, now I want to know what the real users have to say.

Thanks all,

Chief

I haven't upgraded to 4 yet but have been using 3 for a long time, do I like it? Yes!

Would I recomend it ? Absolutly!

Few things I find that make simming more realistic is a flight yoke, rudder pedals and TIR!

Once you use it you won't know how you ever did without it!

I Bought IR:4 pro about a month and a half ago. its awesome  Grin . The software is really nice and fully customizable. There are different characteristic settings  for the tracking of each individual axis. you can manipulate or create your own profiles to your likeness for the acceleration settings. It doesnt come with much information on programing it, its more of a "oh, if i do this with my head, thats what happens... well let me move this slider and see what happens" and trying out different settings. of course its no problem changing anything in the settings since you have the software minimized in the background while playing FS9. I suggest you get a hat that fits well, and that ventalates well because you'll get "hat head" after the first hour  Tongue .  make sure you can put the actual tracking device on top of something ( the monitor) that has a direct line of sight and directly in front of your forehead. Allow room for turning you head left, right, up, down, and the other 3 axes (x,y,z) for vector expansion. speaking from experience get at least something with vector expansion. it will help you when V-cockpits are a bit in the way of looking outside the cockpit, and zooming in/out of gauges. its great when flying with GA aircraft. this is a must have for GA pilots and helo pilots (helps with the landings and hovers))! still great for airliners. althought if you like looking left and right very often (like i do) i suggest to have your FPS at least at 20-25 for great viewing, if its lower than that, its still great but it drastically reduces the realism that TIR adds to FS9. But this device doesnt affect your FPS, so thats a plus 8) . a flight yoke and pedals would make the experience even more realistic.

Should also add that if your into Combat sims (ex. IL2) your score will increase the first time you use it, i find it a must for dogfights!

Omar made some points on setup, and this is something else you should know don't expect to get it, plug it in and be happy, lol.
It takes time to adjust it to yourself, if using preloaded profiles you could find yourself getting motion sickness. As with most utilities you need to tweak it to your personal preferance.

It is awesome in FS9 although only works in VC , but it is even better in combat sims!
It also works in many other games.

Vector expansion is a must have (I do belive that it is part of the TIR 4 package now, previously it was a seperate purchase)

Thanks  a lot for your input. It looks like now I don't have a choice but to buy it.
The the type of flying I do is mostly "bush" flying,  low and slow, so the tracker seems to be the right choice. I already use the yoke and pedals, so this should add to the realism!

Regards,

Chief

I have been on the fence for over a year but after reading this and some on line reviews, I myself just ordered it!

Dave I was the same, sat and thought about buying it and never did. It was a birthday gift from a buddy of mine last year and probably the best gift ever!
You will wonder how you did without it after your first flight, much like the feeling you got after using pedals the first time Wink

I still use my TIR 1, it actually influences my choice of sims and downloads for FS. I fly IL-2 exclusively with it, and wouldn't go into FS without it either, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

BF

P.S. I am currently saving my pennies for an upgrade to the lateset greates in time for FSX and the BOB game coming from 1C later this year.

I literally cannot think of anything bad about it, unless you're this guy...

...

...and your hair is much too large to wear a hat.

Or, if you've recently had a truamatic head/neck injury that requires your head to be screwed into place with one of those nasty contraptions, then you might have a problem.

Other than those two reasons, I can't think of a reason why you wouldn't get it. Grin

Even with hair like that TIR is still worth it!

You can place the refelctive dots about anywhere. before I got the vector expansion I would place dots on my glasses which worked well because that is where my eyes are located anyway Smiley (mind you I did not place the dots on the lenses Wink )

Also had used it with a dot placed on my mic boom on the headset, again located in relation to your face so when you moved your head it was more in sync on screen.

Big hair or not a absolute necessity!
