I have just had the fortune of finding a really good painting program, very basic, but thats a good thing for beginners like me. I am wanting to repaint the default boeing 737, however the textures only allow for an asymmetrical design on the first quarter or third of the fuselage, then it would seem to be copied onto the other side for the remaining portion of the body. I am wanting to do a livery for easyJet, but as their logo spans the entire length of the body, is this not going to be possible (without the logo inverted on one side) Hope that made sense, I seem to ramble alot (there I go again...and again...and agin..... etc)

Don't waste your time painting any of the default aircraft. All of them have sub-standard textures with this same problem.
Find yourself a decent 3rd party aircraft, preferably one with a paint kit or failing that, one with lots of white that will be easy for you to 'clean up'. Then play with that as much as you like.
There are lots of excellent EasyJet repaints out there - but when you want to do your own that's not the point. I know how you feel from when I started painting.
Best of luck and happy painting. But take my advice - don't waste your time on any of the default aircraft (and don't listen to anyone who says what marvellous repaints they've done using them
)

.........mmm.........virtually the only plane I fly these days is my beloved rust bucket c172 which is a repaint of the default a/c........I love it...... rust patches and all..............matches my old beat up personality to a "T". There are loads of c172s out there but do they HAVE to look like they are making their maiden flight?...........commoner:P

I respect and understand the connecdtion you have with your 'rust bucket' but when Im stood at the gate at manchester waiting to board, Id be far more comfortable seeing nice clean (rust free) metal work than I would seeing the B744 equivelent of your cessna

LOL..........don't be fooled by the fresh paint you see on those shiny Boeings etc.........some of them are ancient and have been repainted several times...........the RUST is there ok.......UNDER the paint................commoner.
...actually my point if you missed it was that you can successfully repaint default a/c...........

Aaaah still, its all psychological... You cant see the wood-worm in your roof but you will do when it collapses
Still, that extra layer of paint must give a little extra stength

ahh...you can Derek, but after spending the time and effort you never get something that looks like a REAL aircraft - which is the objective of most serious repainters.
For that you have to be able to apply markings, decals etc EXACTLY where they are on the real aircraft you are trying to copy. So anyone trying to do a proper EasyJet repaint would be wasting their time with the default 737.
Likewise if you want to do a realistic repaint of your club's 172, you'd be wasting your time with the default Skyhawk.
But for sure, if you just want to change the colour scheme a bit and use the the sim's method of applying a registration (weedy thin black lettering, because you can't paint proper registrations on each side of the fuselage and the wings and/or the tail fin of the default planes) the defaults are perfectly OK to mess around with.
But if you want to paint seriously, sorry they're a waste of time.
The Baron and Learjet are better than the others because you have separate fuselage sides and tail fins but I'm still not sure about the wing surfaces because I've never painted em.
