Ok im ready to join the crazy few and start a cockpit for my FS. (no offence Wink ) Im not electronicly inclined so i wont be building any gauges, i have no idea how. I would basicly like to buy the parts for this. It sounds kinda cheep in a way but well whatever. I am thinking of starting with Go Flight stuff, scince all of it is ment to be together, use USB and they already have stacks available that are made for the products. If i build something big (im just going to start with an autopilot right now) i am planning an F-16 configuration possibly. Id like to be able to use my Satiek X45 so what sort of tips do you guys have for me in my beginnings. Also note I make less than 300 a month but i have no expences, im 17 still live at home till college, so the products cant be the $1,000 super stuff. Just looking for simple but effective. Thanks in advance for any and all help you give.  Grin

Hi Baw

The Go Flight products are great units and are very professional looking.
To build a full cockpit  you would need to committ to spending a lot of money, however the product does allow you to buy the modules as you afford them and gradually build up your system.

If you want to build a F16 cockpit then perhaps you should check out some of the f16 cockpit sites like "viperpits".(just google for the link)

As I have mentioned on other threads "Beta Innovations" have a great range of products and software that could be what you are looking for. These units would require you to be able to do some basic wiring and fabrication of your boards and switches though.

cheers

BAW,

Welcome to our little insane asylum.  Wink

Check the cockpits resources thread at the top of the forum for some leads on hardware/software type stuff.

I have a number of Goflight units.  They are great.  But lately that seem to have abandodned their own supprot forum.................... so i am not sure what is up with that.  The VRP readios are really nice.  I have the autopilot too.......   works great.

Remember the old carpenter's advice..... "measure twice, cut once."

Post some shots as the project develops.

best,

.......................john
