if i am going to download an aircraft (payware) then i have a major problem.

With the aircraft that you have to pay for when you start the install process, well this computer is not the computer on which i run fs, so therefore, i cannot install it here.

can i go a certain way through the process, to the point at which i pay, and the quit. Then put the file onto my memory stick, take it upstairs to my FS computer and then finish the install there?
or am i screwed basically....?

any help will be greatly appreciated!

cheers
james

I've modified your title as there's no need for the language ... it doesn't matter that you've put *** in place of the letters it's just as bad as using the implied word.  Undecided

You should be able to make a copy of anything you pay for and install it where you like.

Some payware such as Flight1 have you download the file first then as you run the file it asks for payment, then after that is complete installs.

So with these if your FS computer doesn't have a interent connection then, you might have a issue. I have found ways to get the downloads onto my other pc, but in order to get it running it needs to be verified via the internet. You may want to contact those you purchase from and describe your plan, they may have a way for this to be done hassle free.

But most files that you pay for first then install shouldn't be a problem transfering to the computer in which you intend on using it.

Make a fake directory of FS9 install there, copy and paste. I use it with some autoinstall aircraft on my dads comp, i placed FS9 in a diffrent directory and his computer wont always let me search for where it is.

..(as to dodgy, puerile, juvenile language, used on the Forum, it would be interesting to know what it actually was)... Wink...?

I really can't see the problem with installing a Payware Program directly to your own computer...?

I do it all the time, make a note of the registration details in my paper note-book, and re-enter the details every time I install/re-install the program onto a new HDD, or even a new Windows install...
No problemo...Grin...!

I only have 56k Dial-up and all my downloaded Payware Programs work perfectly every time, transferring from one hard drive to the next...!
...all it requires is the possibility of an on-line check by the owners of the program for your registration/purchase details..

At least that's one good thing about a download package that doesn't need an on-line install setup - you download the package, either before or after the payment is made, and then you enter an e-mailed registration during an "off-line" installation.

1. Start the exe on the PC you purchased the Payware on.

2. Purchase the item.

3. At this time they will give you a "key code" and ask where you want to put this "Key code". It will want to default to the Pay ware's folder. Just know where that is. If it is Eaglesoft, it will be in C/Eagleasoft....

3. So you save a Copy and click next............

4. At this point you can EXIT the set up.

5. Now take your Payware Aircraft EXE. file and the "KEY CODE" folder and move them onto your external storage unit.

6. Transfer to the new PC.

7. Start the EXE.

8. Click "Already purchased" or 'Re-installation", (something like that).

9. It will ask you for the key. (If you were on the PC you purchased the payware on, it would open up the "Key Code folder" by default. You may need to navigate to the folder where you stored the "key code".

10. Click on the key and click OK.

11. You may be asked for the last 4 numbers on the credit card so you will need them.

12. once authentication has been verified, the exe will install your aircraft into FS9!

13. Go flying!

IMPORTANT!!!!!
Most of the Eaglesoft Jets want to start in the 2D cockpit mode or your SIM will not start. If this is the case, maybe go to the airport you want, load a default aircraft, make sure you are in 2D cockpit mode, now switch to the Eaglesoft Aircraft. (That is if you purchased an Eaglesoft aircraft)

Alphasim's aircraft don't require anything like that after payment, after you have downloaded it you can move it to your other computer without hassle.
