I just borrowed this game from my friend and fore some reason when I click install and the "Install Shield" or whatever is running it gives me an error stating

"An installation support file" with some directory path "could not be installed." then it gives me a reason that the "Parameter is not correct" or something to that effect.

Any ideas what the problem is? I tried to install it on my laptop and it did not give me the error at that point, i.e. setup wizard started fine, although I did not install it since my laptop is not powerful enough (it's about 5 yrs old, really crap graphics card)

Defragment your harddrive. Thats usually the problem. Also if you have another drive or partition, install there and see if you get the same problem.

Cheers

Nope, didn't help and the drive is not partitioned and it's the only one I have.

The directory that the error is in is in the Documents & Settings/My Acoount folder, within a hidden folder but the subfolder is not hidden.
