To start, apologies if this isn't the correct forum but I'm having a nightmare  installing addon scenery for London Stansted.

Basically, what I see when I use john young's excellent scenery doesn't line up with where my actual aircraft is when you see it on an ATC radar screen - so when I look like I'm on a taxiway I'm actually cutting over the grass.

Any ideas how I can fix this?

And if it is the wrong forum can you point me in the right direction?

I'm gonna assume you mean a third party is trying to look at you over some type of net connection or LAN?

If so, addon scenery changes the default locations of things sometimes, making it look strange for anyone without that particular addon.  This isn't something you can really "fix", but you could get the other person to download that particular file and install it, which would put you both in the same "location" as it were.

And if this isn't what you meant, please clarify.

If you are talking about a multiplayer setup than Locke is correct in order to see the same scenery as you have everyone else has to have the same scenery this goes with aircraft as well if you do not have a aircraft in your fleet that someone else is using you will not be able to see it the correct tag will show but not the right model.
Are you using FSnav for a radar screen ? if so than the person using fsnav must have the same scenery as you do or vice versa otherwise the information will not be correct. 8)

Thanks guys, hope this helps:

The problem's not other people seeing my scenery, but with my physical position not lining up with where the airport should be.

ASRC's the radar client.  As I said, when I look like I'm on the taxiway from the cockpit I'm actually on the grass on the ATC screen.  I line up perfectly with some of the other addon scenery I've added which tells me the radar's right - for some reason with Stansted I'm about 1/4 mile off.  If I disable the addon scenery and use the default FS2004 Stansted scenery, again I line up perfectly with what's on the radar screen, and where I am on the AFCAD screen also lines up with the visal model - does this mean the addon scenery is in slightly the wrong place?  How do I shift it back?

Typical ignorant pilot, I know...

I still think the problem is that the ASRC's client does not have that addon scenery and is uding the default scenery. One way to cure this would be to find out how to update the ASRC's scenery you might have to upload the file so it will have it. That is about the only way I know of to get rid of the problem.
There might be some kind of option in ASRC,s that will allow you to rebuild its data base thus including that addon. I am not that familar with ASRC I use FSNAV which is a little different. I rember when I use to fly for a virtual airline called LIVEWIRE if you were the ATC controller you used FSNAV as a radar scope but you had to make sure you down loaded the latest data base so you could tell where everyone was. 8)
