Does anyone know where to find MdlDisAs by Trevor de Stigter?
It was needed for a weapon-building tutorial and the given link has gone. Alternatively, anyone know of an equivalent?
It was for "Decompiling the exported MDL using MdlDisAs and making the necessary changes, and then recompiling the file into a BGL weapon file".
FSDS Pro and SCASM Version 2.8 were the other 2 tools needed

I did a quick search on Google. You can get MdlDisAs here. http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/tdestig/id17.htm
There is also a link to the SCASM home page. FSDS Pro (FSDS1.6) is payware. The latest version is FSDS3).

Resurrecting an old thread - I finally tried MdlDisAs and I can't get it to work ???

Setting up in the first place, the Help file tells me:
"At startup the system registry is opened and checked for installed Flight Simulator versions.  The versions found are listed in a box on the Input File page as shown below"

And all I get is a big blank  Shocked

MdlDisAs does work with FS2004, doesn't it?

It's some time since I last used MdlDisAs. From what I remember it wouldn't need any version of FS to be installed to work. It does need to know where to find SCASM.exe. The setup procedure is described on this page. http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/tdestig/id20.htm

The latest version (Build 618 ) is supposed to be able to read Gmax & FSDS2 models for FS2002. It might not work with the latest FS9 models. What did you wish to use it for?

I was doing a repaint, but the model used a material rather than a texture on the wing struts.  That means I couldn't repaint them, so I wanted to decompile and assign textures to the struts.

As it turns out, I got another (better) model of the same plane which has textures on the struts so it's irrelevant now.
