What to get??? (Read 492 times)

having received loads of money from my birthday (17may) i think that i may branch out a bit into the world of payware.

now, i was wondering what people think is the best of the payware scenery add-ons
and also which are the best payware aircraft add-ons, now that sounds realy vague, but would it be more worth while getting a payware military fighter, or maybe a commercial like the just flight concorde?

with the scenery, it realy relates to the aircraft, so if i get a payware military fighter, or even bomber or transporter, which military base or other add-on would go best with it, and the same for the commercail if that is your suggestion.

now i hope you have understood what i have said there  Roll Eyes Tongue

all help will be greatly appreciated.

cheers
james

For the money you can't beat the UK2000 range of Uk scenery (I presume thats where you live Tongue). Its not the quality of single airports like Frankfurt or Fly Tampa stuff, but its still good and you get a lot of airports for your money. If you wanted a commercial jet, anything by PMDG (747, 737 etc), Dreamfleet 727, CaptainSim (757,707). I don't own many fighters ( Warbirds), but the two I fly reguarly is the RealAir Spit and CaptainSim Yak3,
Thanks,
John

Anything by RealAir is good (especially the Spit and SF.260) for aircraft.
As for scenery I'd say it depends on where you like to fly...

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Before getting any aircraft or scenery you MUST get

FSGlobal
Ground Enviroment
Flight Enviroment
Ultimate Terrain- USA/Canada-Alaska/Europe

All available from Flight1.

Now it will be like you got a new sim for your new aircraft and that would have to be the MAAM DC3 Wink

If you can hold on wait until Fairford and then come and see us at Skysim. You don't have to buy but you can take a look and try some things out to see if you like them.

I tend to agree with Politically_Incorrect........upgrade all the mesh and the ground textures as part of your "plan".  There are numerous options.

I happen to like FSGenesis mesh.  And FScene ground textures.  And USA Roads Rails and Streams (for the US) Improving such stuff makes fs2004 general environment look a LOT like the screenshots for fsX.

(No "walking elephants that cast shadows" that I know of yet  Wink.)

best,

im sure i could do that, now how could i get some free stuff?  maybe a tester Tongue Grin

no thatd be great, where abouts are you on the map?
or have you not been told yet.
are you going to be there?

Politically Incorrect, how much would all of those you stated cost together?
if its £50 or under then there may be a possibility, i'll wait and have a look at the sky sim stuff first though.

cheers

All that would cost about $200.
there are many others add-ons that may be cheaper these are what I prefer and i tried almost all of them.

But getting new mesh, terrain data ,textures ,etc.  first will make the biggest improvement, more so than a new aircraft Wink

I recommend the Level-D 767 for a commercial aircraft.  A big plane that still requires a bit of piloting  Wink

Also the Aeroworx King Air B200 for touring the world if you so desire, and the SF-260  Grin

Cheers,
RB
