Ok, its a WWII movie. I can only describe the ending:
this crew just shot down a zeke and the engline lodges itself above the bombadier(sp?) traping him in the ball. Something is wrong with the plane where the landing gear doesn't do down. They know that the bombadier will die in the belly landing that they must make. The crew tries to tell him that everything is allright , but he knows the truth. He starts drawing the plane with the landing gear down. Right before the belly landing, animated landing gear come out of the plane and save the all of the crew. Everyone gets out of the plane and the gear disapears(sp?) and the plane falls on the ground. This is the ending of the movie, I need the title of this before it drives me to the insane asylum.

I believe I may be able to help, but I have to assume your mememory is in error a little bit.
Remember Spielberg's "Amazing Stories" movies that later became a series(or visa-versa, my memory is a little "loose" too)? Well, it was a B-17, but is was a Me-109 that was shot down. The engine slammed into the fuselage trapping the ball-turret gunner. He was the crews good luck charm, they would rub his head, and also a cartoonist. The rest is correct.

Well, ya made me have to go and look it up.  Grin Grin
It was Amzing Stories, the Movie, 1986. The episode was called "The Mission". It also starred Kevin Costner, which was supposedly his only TV role. It was released after the series, which came out in 1985.
