On May 27th 2006 starting at 9pm eastern daylight time we shall strive to complete the 9th hop of our trip down to South America!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Route between MGRT (RETALHULEU, GUATEMALA) and MSLP (SAN SALVADOR, EL SALVADOR):
Distance along great circle: 192.1 statute miles, 166.9 nautical miles, 309.1 kilometers
Initial true great circle heading: 112.5 degrees (east-southeast)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you plan on flying something besides a default plane, please feel free to post which one so that others may be able to pick it up before the flight, and if you decide on using payware please be kind enough to first load in a default plane that is similar in size and then load up your chosen plane.
I will be flying the MAAM-Sim Douglas DC-3, theres a wonderful free alternative in your hanger. Anything that cruises around 150 knots should be perfect for this flight and many of the hops to follow
Teamspeak for the flight is hosted by our gracious member Sam and more information about conencting there can be found at the following address:
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Multi;action=displ
ay;num=1129930528
As Jared hosts the flight server on his pc and the ip address for his network is done dynamically through his ISP he will announce the ip address by about 7pm tonight.
For general questions please refer to the general question thread which will be rewrote within the coming week to reflect more current situations:
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Multi;action=displ
ay;num=1123882151
As always I would love to encourage all who have flown with us in the past, and anyone else to join us at any point during the flight or the tour itself.
Happy flying!
Jake

MSLP Information Alpha
Unfortunately, I couldn't find an airport scenery file for MSLP by searching here at SimV. Try searching the web for latvirtual3.zip though.

70 m Terrain Mesh
For this flight it looks like a single terrain mesh file from the SimV STRM section will cover it to improve your default terrain by 100% resolution.
SA17 .... about 9 MB
Maybe you might see back into NA05 in the distance to the 7-8 pm side of things.
best,

PS: This is an area that I don't have the FSGenesis stuff installed in yet.

Yeah but I better be fast than slow to avoid the baddies' missiles
. Seriously I don't know. Last time cruise speed was about 190 so I looked for a plane that could fit, but now you're telling me 150 and I don't have any aircraft that flies at 150 except a few default planes. And I don't like the default DC-3 very much
.
I think the TBM will make it. Its cruise speed is between 200-250kts but you've certainly noticed last saturday that i was always ten miles behing most of you. So maybe this time I'll be able to stay within a 4 mile perimeter
.

Fighting_Falcon,
OK... downloaded that plane and put it in the aircraft folder...so I should see you in what you are in.
And hopefully everyone found my ...ahem...... "default" Turbocharged Baron
after the last discussion.
That is likely what I'll be flying. Or just the dafault one.
best,
