High Final scores: Lordi and the turkish entry (always a good chance when you can send a national top 10 artist that outside your country is only known by the expats, of which there are lots)

You have to ask why though.
What does it honestly do to win? Maybe a slight interest for the winner for a few weeks in other countries. After that no-one remembers the winner.

It was an exception to the rule but I seem to remember a certain Swedish group that won when it was held in Brighton. Maybe that was a little before your time. Wink

Overall a reasonable show... some stuff inevitably doomed from the start.

And don't forget the Terry Wogan comments...

About the presenters: "... everything is amazing..."

The usual stuff about neighbour voting

His reaction on the german presenter that was running his show while sitting on a horse wearing a cowboy suit...

About paul de leeuw who visibly had difficulties trying not to say 'kalisperma' instead of 'kalispera' and was making sexist jokes about the presenter (Maria was smart enough to get out of sight beforehand): "who sent this idiot"
