Hey guys!  Well Jared asked me to help out with the hop list again, so I planned out the next seven hops taking us from where we left off to Panama City.  So, I will be taking over for a bit as your 'guest planner', Jared will continue to host the sessions (thank you Jared Wink)

On May 20th 2006 starting at 9pm eastern daylight time we shall strive to complete the 8th hop of our trip down to South America!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Route between MMIT (IXTEPEC, OAXACA, MÉXICO) and MGRT (RETALHULEU, GUATEMALA):
Distance along great circle: 262.3 statute miles, 227.9 nautical miles, 422.1 kilometers
Initial true great circle heading: 120.0 degrees (east-southeast)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

If you plan on flying something besides a default plane, please feel free to post which one so that others may be able to pick it up before the flight, and if you decide on using payware please be kind enough to first load in a default plane that is similar in size and then load up your chosen plane.

I will be flying the Pilatus PC-12 by AFG with my own modifications, if anyone wishes to have it I can send it to you via yousendit.  Anything similar will work, the Turbo Baron should be fine for this flight too!

Teamspeak for the flight is hosted by our gracious member Sam and more information about conencting there can be found at the following address:
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Multi;action=display;num=1...;

As Jared hosts the flight server on his pc and the ip address for his network is done dynamically through his ISP he will announce the ip address by about 7pm tomorrow night.

For general questions please refer to the general question thread which will be rewrote within the coming week to reflect more current situations:
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Multi;action=display;num=1...

As always I would love to encourage all who have flown with us in the past, and anyone else to join us at any point during the flight or the tour itself.

Happy flying!

Jake Grin

You will need the following numbers for the next 7 hops all the way through Central America:

NA05
SA17
SA16
SA14
SA13

EDIT: Get the mesh here

BTW, welcome to the tour Fighting_Falcon!  Believe me, you will have lots of fun flying with us and will want to come back week after week.  I joined the tours around hop 30 of the US tour and Ive tried to come along on every flight since then.

Also, now that the questions been asked, in future flight info posts I will put the suggested mesh and/or airport sceneries.

Remember, flight time is at 9:00PM Eastern Time TONIGHT!

See yall on the tour!

I'll likely be in the default Baron Turbo, with the FSGenesis mesh installed.

If you want to download the PC-12 Jake will be using so you see it correctly in the sim........ here's the site:

http://www.alliedfsgroup.com/?RhZbkYiCnAlN5waqbekYjChpg2y2UpmyoZj9hpg32v

Not sure about Jake's repaint though??? ?  The base aircraft package has about 4 textures......most private aircraft variations.  There are others separately.

At least it will be the correct plane.  But it is a whopping 43 Meg download!  Thank god for DSL  Wink.

best,

I might just join you boys. Got the info on TS server, already have TS.

Fly quite a bit over at the FSTopgun server.

I am assuming that we start at MMIT, correct?

And for those in Central time, start is 8pm.

Will be watching for IP post later.

See you pilots there if nothing comes up. Probably be flying a default Baron or King Air.

Jake,

When I unzipped it I found that it has an "autoinstaller" so I am reluctant to run it.  So you might just be in the wrong plane in my screenshots  Wink.  Sorry.

Alright I don't know if I'll have enough time to d/l everything but I'll manage to be there anyway. The main problem is that I'll be likely to disconnect at any moment because of that bloody wifi Angry. And my mic seems to have a little problem too Embarrassed. Anyway, the flight will take place in two hours and half, right? (I don't want to be late like last saturday... Grin)

Cheers

Fighting_Falcon,

Don't worry about having all the stuff downloaded and installed.  Start simple  Wink.  Most important is opening ports and firewall appropriately.  Jared is on port 23456, I think.

Plan on flying a default aircraft.  If you don't have the plane that Jake (or others) is/are flying.... you'll still see it as one of the dafault planes.  If you don't have the terrain mesh installed.... you'll just have a bit less detail in the terrain and maybe whrn on the ground one of the planes will be above the ground or sunk into it..

It is 7:38 PM Eastern Daylight time as I post this.  Start time is at 9:00 PM EDT ....... so just under 1 1/2 hours from now the "wheels leave the runway".  So plan on checking in about 8:45 local time or so to get set up.

As to using Teamspeak... if it works that's good.  Remember to configure it for Push-to-talk.....not voice actuated.  But if not there is always the chat window and typing.  We tend to use a "blend" of the two.

Look forward to flying with you.  Hopefully we'll have some interesting weather again.  We run real world weather updated actively....and set the time typically to two hours before dusk.

best,

....................john

I will always remember of that control tower in the middle of the runway Grin Grin Grin.

That was a very good first MP flight for me in spite of my engine problems and the fact that I got disconnected a few minutes after my (awful) landing....

Anyway, goodnight all, and thanks for that flight (next time I hope the runway will be more enlightened and the weather will be better, I hated that fog... Tongue).

I'm looking forward to flying with you again, with a working mic I hope.

Cheers

Falcon,

Welcome to multiplayer and the SA group.

And yes that tower was an interesting find.  At least it was about in the dead center....and we were flying small aircraft.  You could land on half the runway as long as you hit near the threshold, aand stood on the brakes.   Wink

Also welcome to Fireman!  Nice to have you along.  Good flying too!

Another one under our belts.

best,

..........john

PS:  Pix up in payware.

That was a great flight with interesting weather and very peculiar runway! LOL

Hopefully, more will get involved in this get together and other MP flights posted here at SimV. The Sim experience is greatly enhanced with a good group on MP.

I remember my days when CFS2 was hot and I and a couple other gents started the "Hoppers". We could end up with 15-20 pilots free flying and having a great time island hopping. As a matter of fact, I am working on changing my profile to display only Fireman, as the 526th was the virtual squadron I belonged to in CFS2. lol! Alas, server is being hit hard so no luck on changing profile as of yet.

Again, thanks for welcoming me and will be looking forward to flying with you all again. Until then, you can usually find me over at the fstopgun.org server working on my hops or flying around in the Columbia River Gorge area, love Holger Sandman's mesh work for that whole area.

Later pilots!
