Something sorely missing in FS9, heliports!  Needed sorely for FSX.  Comeon MS, take a hint, I want helicopters and heliports!

Why bother asking for all these detail items?  These things can be downloaded RIGHT NOW on many different sites (including this one!) and they do all the little things your asking here.

I believe that if we're putting out a "wish list" for FSX, we should include some of the stuff that is hardwired into the sim, like the inability to simulate rotating/pitching engines or breaking the 100,000 ft barrier.  These are things that would greatly expand the FS world, bringing more designers to the fore and creating a more rich, complex world.

If your really wanting helipads, landable bridges and oil rigs, go do some searching!  I guarantee you'll find what you want by looking on SimV, AVSim or FlightSim.com!

I agree with Locke on this one. However, I beg to differ about the landable bridges. I have been high and low for a bridge that I can drive on for my car projects and I have yet to see one that is actually drivable.

The one thing I ask from M$ is that they should make the default bridges drivable so that I can be able to tour a city without having to "slew" over a small river every five minutes. I understand that addon developers can make drivable bridges like the Golden Gate Bridge or the Brooklin Bridge, but I doubt there is an addon developer out there that can devote his or her time to make "every" default bridge in the entire FS world drivable.

However, I do like to thank M$ for implementing a smoother road system in FSX rather than the crude and choppy road system that we see in FS9 today. I wonder how the cars handle in those roads and I wonder if the "shockwave" that you saw in previous videos is even drivable.

I've had the same problem!  Trying to drive across bridges in cars never works!  Are there any add-on bridges that allow it?

I remember being able to drive over default bridges back when FS98 was the latest. But that was a long time ago. M$ may have taken it out due to lack of popularity for surface vehicles. But now that surface vehicles such as drivable aircraft carriers, yahts and cars are becoming increasingly better and more popular, I bet M$ has probably brought that old feature back. I hope.

only landable bridge i know of is for 4S2 Hood River. It can be found on Hovercontrol.

Heliports, sorely needed indeed.
