How good do you think is Jodie Foster in aircraft, 3D design?

The Elgin E-474 which she designed... Just what is the fuselage cross-section?

The seatmaps at the website of the film "Flightplan" http://flightplan.movies.go.com/index_main.html
show 12 abreast, on some images of the main cabin.

I cannot quite figure out what the widths and sidewall shapes of the main and upper deck are, or how many stairs in the plane connect the two decks. Has anyone managed to get a complete 3D understanding of what the plane is like?

Well, figuring...

12 abreast on main deck, 3-6-3.

They say that the plane not only accommodates 800 passengers - it gives them luxury of elbowroom rare on other airliners.

This means they probably have noticeably more width per seat than 10 abreast B747 (610 cm total) but perhaps not much more than 10 abreast A380 (658 cm total). I guesstimate the width of main deck interior at around 750-800 cm.

'Am I just dreaming but why does that aircraft look soo much like a A380? Geez why do people have to copy stuff? Ummm yah just a movie!! looks interessting but someone took the A380 and gave it the american touch or something, look at the flight deck. The ressemblance is hardly diff.

But after seeing the preview, it kinda made me think, WTF. This is really interessting. I dont know what to make out of it other then a scifi movie tryint to mix in with a real situation? Smiley

Does E-474 look more like an A380 or a MD-12?

In any case, E-474 is much bigger. The main cabin does not only accommodate 800 passengers, it does so comfortably. A380 can also seat 800 passengers, indeed it has seated 853, but not comfortably - it can only seat 555 passengers comfortably. Nor can A380 seat 12 passengers abreast.
