OK, I have been looking for a LONG time for an update to the original niagara falls scenery and haven't found one yet.  Since I live in Canada I've been there many times.  Just wondering if anyone out there could edit the Canadian portion of the falls to be a horseshoe shape like they are and put a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG cloud of steam rising from the bottom of the falls.  Would REALLY enjoy this if someone could.  Please? Wink

Thanks,

Kevin

Here, I'll show you what I mean.  Here is the default niagara (got it off the internet, not a screenshot by me):

...

Pretty bad.  A BIT of steam but see how the falls go down at an angle and how flat the Canadian falls are?  Ridiculous!  Here is how niagara falls actually looks:

...

This is the Cdn falls.  These really need a rework.  And see the steam!  It is a HUGE BILLOWING CLOUD.  Could a scenery designer please help?  Thanks ALOT.

That's a buttload of work to have done.  I'm surprised it hasn't been modified already, but there are so many glitches in FS that are REALLY bad (check the chasm-and-spire near SYKM) that fixing the minor stuff is sometimes a bit low on the list.

But you are correct.  That shot you put up is depressing.  I'm disappointed in MS, that they would deign to not even improve the scenery there, since it was that bad in FS2000!  But, as I have seen recently, MS has left a lot out in this version of FS.  In fact, there is absolutely no trace of the Great Wall of China anywhere in the FS world! Shocked  Talk about lack of trying!

But if you want to make a sort of quick fix, you could add your own "billowing clouds" by downloading the Special Effects SDK and reading up on it.  It actually isn't that hard, and the effects are already included.  Just making an XML setup is all that is needed.

Good luck!

Thanks alot, Locke.  Sorry if I sounded greedy - I have no idea about how to make scenery or how much work it requires! Cheesy  I can try doing what you suggested, but still, if anyone wants a project...Wink

This may be fixed in an update of Freeflow New England, not sure though. All water ways are supposed to be updated to realistic shapes in the update. I will ask around and see what happens. I will also request that better steam and mesh be included. No promises, but Ill see what happens.
