"The above are from a stunning package for FS9/FSX being put together by an outfit called Vertical Reality Simulations. It promises to be the most in-depth sim of the Hornet ever made. All systems are modelled, including wepaons. These can't be fired but all the systems function exactly as their real counterparts do, and feedback on displays such as the radar show where the missile(s) would be in relation to the target, and compute Pk based on a number of criteria. This level of detail continues thoughout the whole package. The project has been in development for over 4 years and should be ready for release in August of this year.

So where does this fit in with AlphaSim ? Well VRS are releasing a boxed package in the stores as well as a download version - that's where we come in, come along to AlphaSim for your download version"

So it's not made by AS, but is being distributed by them...

However, if you look at their up and coming EF Typhoon, you'll see how good their add-ons are becoming. The VC is incredible! Shocked

Looks very nice, although unfortunately it looks like the developer may have fallen into the "must be able to see the engine compressor blades through the intakes" problem they look about 4-5 feet from the front of the intake...

Need to find a cutaway drawing of the Super Hornet to confirm...

Page 6 of this document...

Little things like that can spoil a very very good model. It may just be the perspective of the shots from the Alphasim forum...

So apparently the image I posted (using my own bandwidth) was too large and was deleted. If there's a specific size restriction for images that are using my own bandwidth, perhaps the admin can simply let me know instead of deleting the entire post along with the text.

Here's a link this time:

Image of ARS deployment which shows a bit of intake

Charlie, In short the answer was no, the compressor blades are no longer visible.

They used to but no one would pay attention and keep up with the site rules violation Wink See that caught your attention  Tongue Grin

It looks pretty nice, but even with reading the other forums there is no mention as to whether or not it will contain a F18 sound pack.

The AerialFoundery F18 is great, except there is no sound pack and sound is aliased to the Lear which is far from realistic.
The only Lear sound that is close to similar is the startup and shutdown sequance.
So for $50 a sound pack is a must.

Also what about replicating fly-by wire ability?

Another AF issue of mine is how easily the aircraft is to overstressing.

Looks good visually and load outs are cool but the real test will be the sound and FD.
If it sounds like a Lear then its a Lear Wink

Well unfortunately for the time being there are many many details which are going to have to remain under wraps. We haven't done an official press release yet, and features are still changing.

I'll certainly tell you that there is an authentic sound set with the product which was sampled from 404s.

The FDs are still under development and it's too early to either confirm or deny the existance of a FBW system. Again, too many unresolved details there at this point.

I hope to have a complete feature list published within the next month along with the official press release.

Sorry I can't be more specific right now,
