If I already turn a yoke and with gizmo I alling it already, what about if I want to delete this mapp, and leave it with out of it,for ex.?? or maybe paste another map wich is not in the same Bmp is in another?
Is there's a way?how?
for Gmax and Max users?
EDIT:In other words delete the mapp and reconvert with its original default color, that it has before was mapp it?default color?

The whole remove-a-mapped-texture-from-an-object-without-leaving-a-grayish-effect thing can be quite confusing to me as well.

Yah, that's why I haven't replied to it quickly, hmm I would have to just say, delete it from the Modifier List. If that doesn't work, then delete specified object material editor? That's what I know from now, haven't been modeling lately. Hope this info helps.8)

Yes I don't like that greyich that left,I knew in that case how to do it,But i rather to merge from one of my STEPS ,I made my plane by steps,by date,so I merge and delete the old part, and wala!! easier and new piece again.......
I just though maybe a hidden option click and wala without mapp and with the original color, and that's not possible.....that was all....

Ok, how about this: just make a new material and then apply it to the object. Then delete the new material. The object will revert back to the original color.
I do it all the time.

I know this is a little late but the best way and the way GMAX recomends is to save your progress after each step that way all you have to do is go back to the the step before the problem. I know this can mean a lot of files out there but beleive me after pulling every hair in your head out trying to un do things in gmax it did not take long before I started doing just that I would give meaningful names to the files so I would always know where to go back to. Trying to alter anything in gmax can be very difficult. I recently purchased the GMAX bible but have not yet started to go through it yet this book is anything except little and not everything in it applies to FS. But I plan on starting a page 1 and go till I get to the end and doing every exercise they give you I figure it can not hurt the more I know the more trouble I can get into

I also use that exact method. So far, I have up to 60 progressive files of my current project.

Awww, that's nuthin! My best so far is 154 permutations of the same aircraft, and that's just the exterior model of a single aircraft: I have something like fifteen to twenty different aircraft at certain points in their creation.
My full folder of stuff I've made is just about to peak 2 GBs.

I cant see any reason of deleting map or material from object. Why du u want to do this?It completely daznt make sense. If u dont like the color of the object as it appears in viewport just apply new material with desired color. If u want to create different uv map for it-just create it and it will overright the old one.
Because finally u must apply material and uv mapping to all object anyway-whats the point of deleting it?U always can create new ones which will overright the old ones.

the reason ,because I want it to,I think this post wont be more interest, I just was looking for some kind of "instant mapp clean"and became an endless disccusion from a Very "SILLY" question, I still don't get it, why all this mess?,There is not a simple way,all right, I get it!!
....That shoud be all,and I hope this thread goes away....bye
