Anyone actually gotten a photo into Airliners.net?
There are 13,000 people waiting in front of me.

I'm honoured...thanks dude.

It's really getting time for the new airshow season to kick off. Now it's been since september since I shot my last aircraft. Therefore, I haven't uploaded any photos to Anet since then.

For now, the 2006 season looks very promising with RIAT having it's best line up since years and my first visit to the Flying Legends airshow at Duxford. Too bad I'm gonna miss the Blues in the Netherlands but hey...a MiG-29OVT ain't bad either!  Cheesy

Well, on saturday I submitted three pictures:  one REALLY good picture of the DC-3 and 2 pictures of a Cirrus.  I hope the Cirrus gets on withought problems as its registration isnt in the database, the picture is good, and I also submitted a good cockpit picture.

Yep, and believe me, their standards are getting higher and higher.
These days I would advise if your that worried about getting a shot on Anet, make sure its something that isn't on their already.
Things to also think abuot before submitting your shot.
Is it level? You can use the grid feature in most photo editing software for this.
Is the full aircraft visable? And if not, is it clear that your shot was meant to focus on something specific and is it clear why?
Is the shot of the highest quality, clear and in focus? If there is any graining in the shot is there a good reason like poor lighting or bad weather for it?
Always check to see if there is an identical shot on the site from the same angle.
Make sure to send only one shot of each aircraft, they are now rejecting all doubles so sending 2 or 3 shots of the same aircraft hoping to beat the odds is pointless.
Finally just look at the most recent photos on there and then look at yours and ask yourself, is my shot really as good as that? Sometimes the hardest thing to do is be critical of your own work.

I finally realised that its not that important when looking over those facts to get on the site. I take photos for my own pleasure and share them with those here for those who are interested. I do it because I enjoy, not to get some recognition on a free site with stupid standards.
