I recently downloaded a new contrail effect (3D, like the stock airshow smoke) but when I go into tower or spot view the screen goes white when the smoke gets into full view.  As the view rotates, I can see just the very beginnings of the contrail, but when it gets fully onto the screen all I see is white.

This doesn't happen with JUST this addon, either.  Occasionally when I crash, or another FX file is activated by the sim, I get a screen full of the predominant colors (crash=brown smoke and red flames, heavy tire burn=gray smoke).  Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?  Is there maybe something I can edit in the FS9.cfg that would turn down the sprites or whatever you call them?  I don't know the first thing about effects, so this is brand new territory for me . . .

But it isn't looking into the smoke.  Even at 30,000 ft and .75 mach, looking from the nose of the aircraft backwards the smoke still does this.  Seems it might be a problem with my graphics card, but I have it figured out now.  Just changed to a modified stock 300S smoke effect.  Looks very nice, now.

I get that too...I don't care about it...I use Walk and Follow for my camera utility...so it never bothers me... Grin
