I came up with a little scenario. I think would be fun to fly. I`ve talked with a couple of guys and they liked the idea so I am posting it here. Go to:
http://richardspromos.com/UFS/UFS.html
and check it out. If there is enough interest we can set up a night to fly it.

Hank,
I think you have 'come-of-age' and it's time to introduce you to "
http://www.com-central.net/index.php?name=Forums
" as well.
8)
You might want to post this on there too, although I don't think there's enough interest in CFS1 on either forum lately. You might be hard pushed to get this kinda game off the ground nowadays.
Try the guys in 83rd, NS38th, and ACP as well.
Think they're up for these kinda missions.

Thanks for the addy doc!
Got a few guys interested.
But I had a little problem with AF1 conflicting with a stock CFS file. I fixed that and on the page I added hot links to each file. Don`t have to take a 7 mb download now.
I think the mission will be a success, theres all ready competition as to who will fly AF1,LOL.
I am thinking about hanging back in a mig 23 and letting the guys fight it out then catching AF1 on landing. But that will probably change as game day approaches. If this comes together I hope you will join the mission. I think it will be a lot of fun. Thats if a skwirrel can fly a jet.
Anyway first bug fixed, waiting for more feedback.
Thanks again doc for your help. See you on the zone.

lol yw and I certainly hope it takes off for you.
Try and have words with Air Vegas and BirdmanHawk as I believe they like this sort of game as well.
Thanks for the invite but, unfortunately, it's not my bag these days. I used to fly add-ons (in EURO-only mission rooms) but now I stick to the cd stuff only.

NP, buddy
Bear got me into JO flight school, my first class is wed night. I don`t know how well I`ll do with my antique system but am sure I will learn a lot.
Still have`nt got a stick with rudder control. And I lose control when I use hot keys. I`ve been flyin with auto rudder and I see the difference the twist grip makes.
There is one thing I`m curious about though. In game I see certain planes change direction instantly, you know heading north then in an instant, with no manuvering headed south. and a few minutes later the same plane seems to cfo a few hundred feet. I`m curious if thats lag on my part or some kinda mod?
I don`t want to call cheat, but if I am on that ballfield, Vegas did give me some of his toys. LOL
I`m hopin its just my PC cause I do much prefer Stock planes.
Aside from that I saw your pic on your site, you look kind of James Bondish my friend. I knew another fellow from England a few years back, Named Chris Pook, He got the Long Beach Grand Prix started in Long Beach Calif. I was thinkin you two could be brothers from your looks. Doubt it but I thought I would mention that to you.
Okay thats it, am going to the zone see you there, maybe.

Chris Pook? He may resemble me but never forget; Skwirrell's cutest.
What you're seeing in game may, or may not, be a cheat. It's difficult to say without seeing the particular example. Some folks are known for cheating. I don't want to go into naming names. Some of them have acquired that reputation by being too inexperienced to know when they are being cheated and when they are just being outflown or a victim of lag. Those people then make the mistake of going after the person they think cheated them with one of Vegas's mods. But they have then started cheating themselves. Regardless of the reason.
They just acquire the same reputation. Cheating, is cheating in whatever guise it's used. My advice would be not to call 'cheat' on anyone. Just remember who they are and don't fly with them again. That's why I usually only fly in closed rooms these days; so I can control who I fly against.
I have a good idea of folks reputations now and try to fly with folks I know are more interested in having fun than in winning or losing. I take games more seriously when I have a wingman as someone else is depending on me. but generally, having fun is what it's all about. The result is a part of that, but when it becomes all important, that's when cheats are born.
If you wanted to have a quiet word with me about individuals, I will try and give you my opinion on them, IF I have one. It would only be my personal opinion and only something I use as my guide when I am thinking about who to invite into my rooms.
Ie, it'll be of little value to anyone else. You must make your own opinions.
What you describe can be from lag, it could also be from someone adjusting their settings within the game and not realising what they're doing:- Their game locks up as they "enter a suspended state" to access their settings and, when they re-enter the game, their system catches up with yours. You might see them shoot across the sky like a rocket, as both systems exhange co-ordinate data. This is not to say there has definitely been no cheating, just that there are other explanations and, unless you're 100% sure you're being cheated, it's best to give the benefit of the doubt.
You MUST get a twist grip stick to successfully compete in stock on-line dogfights. Auto-rudder is not as fast as a twist stick and will actually slow you down. I don't know anyone else flying with auto-rudder regularly and, where I see it, I will always discourage it.
JO is a good school (not the only school) and I would certainly recommend it for gaining more all-around experience and knowledge. So far, I've not flown any JO graduates who have given me reason to suspect their flying abilities were in any way less than honourable. Usually the folks who apply for JO training are honourable enough by default. Players with less honourable intentions tend to look for a 'quicker' solution from the outset.
JO once asked myself and Rilla to train their dogfighters for them but we already had other commitments at the time and we tended to offer our help to anyone we considered deserving anyway. Don't forget that JO's not a final solution; I've been flying CFS1 almost every day since September 2001 (at the beginning I would fly in excess of 6 hours a day) and I'm still learning now. Whether I fly someone who has never flown before, or someone who can run rings around me, I always try to take something away from the battle and improve my tactics from it.
JO can teach you a lot about general flying, but I reckon your own squad has some pretty good dogfighters too (Bear being one of them). Ask those guys to impart some of their knowledge to you. That's the benefit of belonging to a quality squadron
Most importantly, always try to ensure that people flying with or against you, have as much fun in the game as you do. So that it's your choice whether or not you fly them in the future. Never turn someone down because they aren't as good, or because they're too good. You can always learn from both, which is why I started helping our new arrivals.
I'll try and help you with dogfighting advice when I'm able. First tip is to get a good twist grip stick.

Your advice is welcomed and appreciated. I don`t mean to sound like I want to go after anyone. I guess I meant if people were gonna fly "mods' I`d like to fly one too. But you are right. Cheatings, cheating and I would not care to wear the cheaters jacket. I`m happy with my new flyers coat and dont wish to soil it.
As far as Chris Pook he was a pretty good guy and I wonder if he`s known over there. And I am curious what happened to him.
Okay I`ll admit it, Your the cutest, LOL.
Now as far as my jets I don`t think you can call them mods because to be mods I would think they would have to be in the original game and modified from that.
I guess I would call them add-ons. I have flown them with others but normaly in private and discussed before game. It is wild flying real fast through interlaken skiming the surface in those mountains.
Bear and the others have been helping me with doggfighting, but I am anxious to learn basics. Its easy to take off and fly level, landing is a challenge I am getting better at it. Still have`nt managed carrier landings yet.
Jo`s basic flight course promises to enlighten me on formation flying, navigation, nightflying and flying with a wingman. Skills I see in others that I fly with. Just reading the text files they had me download was a bit eye opening. and of course your tips on your website are very helpfull.
As far as the stick goes, I am waiting to get paid for a job I did, the money has been slow to arrive but when it does get here, I am off to the store to purchase a new stick.
Then maybe I can be a little more competitive and a better asset to my squad.
Again, Thanks for all your help. Hopefully I can return the favor in the future.

Hiya Hank.
You're correct in your assesment and "Mods" aren't really what you're referring to. It's become a generic term used by stockers but:-
There's
stock
: Unaltered cd aircraft used for fair, dogfighting competition, on a level playing field;
Add-ons
: Freely available accurately modelled aircraft designed to give wider game enjoyment to those who want more from their game;
Then
"mods"
; These are fantasy aircraft with several million guns and super engines that travel at thousands of miles per hour. Nevertheless mod fliers still enjoy their games together, and good luck to them.
The problem comes with 'cheat-mods' which are aircraft with altered files which are designed for two things;
1) to get past 'restrict' in restricted games, and
2) to give the user an advantage over other players in the game.
We have to remember, and thank, a guy called 'SnakeEyes' for giving cheats a way past restrict. "Aircraft don't cheat, people cheat" was his (and not only his) reasoning. And with these words, he began the downfall of CFS.
Mods / add-ons are fine (if you like that sort of thing) in their own rooms. That's why you see "Stock / cd only" rooms advertised by the older hands.

I see. Geez, I missed a lot. Don`t think I`ll ever catch up. But I`ll get as much out of it as I can before everything shuts down.
I know theres some alternatives to the zone, but I wonder if people will be able to get together for flights, probably have to do it through forums, email and instant messengers.
I got most everything transfered to the xp, but need to set something in the dmz on my router. yesterday it would`nt let me host or see others in game in the afternoon, then later in the evening it would. Still though I am thinking its the cable modem which is supposed to be replaced today. So before I mess with router settings I`ll see if the new cable modem works better.
Well see you in the Zone, maybe.

CFO is needed to originate at different airports, no need for tg2 the presidents plane should be unarmed.
I had to remove the first AF1 I had included, and I never checked to see if the one I replaced it with was armed. If it is and you want TG2, feel free to use it. but I think if the migs get close enough to shoot at AF1 it is going down. thats why the f 14`s and the raptors are important.
Also Team Speak would be good to have. If you need the addy for TS2 here it is:
http://www.goteamspeak.com/
I will ask my squad if we can use the _45th_ server for the game. If not I`ll set up a TS server on my IP host. Either way in this type of mission communication is important.
As far as panels glad you brought that up, "see feed back is good". We will need navigation. So let me look at installed panels and see what we need. Next post will have that info.
I am sure as the game unfolds there will be some variables not forseen. So please, ad those six aircraft to your quick combat list and test the various planes. That way you will know what to expect from each craft. And if there is a bug or two notify me so I can fix it.
And while you are at it contact some of the guys you fly with and see if any want to fly the mission with you.
As it stands now we have about 6 or 7 pilots ready to fly. I would like to see seven or eight more at least.
If you would like to do some practice with the jets, I would be up for a flight or two. I am busy on Tues., Wed., and Thurs. nights, But any other time just Email me, IM me, or post here and I`ll meet you for a zone or IP flight.
