I have Steve Olwell's rwy 12 KMCO enhancement scenery.  It comes with it's own AFCAD, which is said to be necessary for proper gate alignment.  For starters, the AFCAD that comes with the package does not alter the gates in any way whatsoever.  As I would soon discover, NO AFCADs alter the gates in any way whatsoever.  No matter what file I try, it has no effect.  I've gone through three different AFCADs and not a single one has had an effect on the airport.  This problem is specific to KMCO-I have several other AFACDs running no problem.

Any ideas?  This is very frustrating.

Looks like there's a difference to me.... Roll Eyes

Default KMCO
...

AF2_KMCO.bgl from the kmco.zip download
...

Are you sure your putting the AF2_KMCO.bgl in a proper location. Also make sure this is the  only modified Afcad file or scenery for this airport that you have installed.

Also, the readme states: Quote:
Place KMCO.bgl in the Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\Static Objects Library\scenery folder.

I dont believe this placement is advisable , and isnt necessary. Install as you would any other Scenery Area; i.e.-...<FS9>\Addon Scenery\KMCO\scenery\ *.bgl's here.

Hi Dave-yes, I'm aware there SHOULD be a difference.  AFCADs should only be active if they are put in the addon scenery/scenery folder, correct?  In that case, it is in fact the only one active.  I do have another kmco afcad on my comp, one that adds an ILS or something, but it is not in the scenery folder, and I have ensured that only the afcad that adds gates is the one I have in the scenery folder.  The afcad that adds an ILS is set as a scenery area however, but when I deactivated it it still made no difference.

Bgl's, including afcad's, do not have to be in ..\Addon Scenery\scenery\ to be active.  If they are in the ...\<any scenery>\scenery\ folder of any active Scenery Area they are read by the Sim.

Try removing the other afcad or deactivating the Scenery Area it is installed in. (Edit: ..see you already tried that, will have to dig further..  Wink )

"AFCADs should only be active if they are put in the addon scenery/scenery folder, correct? "

Any *.bgl in any FS9 path location will be loaded by the sim; it's simply a matter of priority (hierarchy)

Running  ScanAFD will check for duplicate AF2 files.

The scenery hierachy for FS9 is:
1.) Addon Scenery/Named/scenery
2.) Addon Scenery/scenery
3.) FS9/Scenery/World/scenery (where the numbered FS9 default af2 files reside)

Open any AF2 file in AFCAD2 and view the priority and file location (path) from the Properties menu.

ahhh ok did not know that.  It's possible that even when I deactivated the scenery, I had the same exact afcad (the one that added an ILS) in the main addon/scenery folder.  They're all called AF2_KMCO! Roll Eyes Tongue

I'll mess around with it some more.  Thanks for all your help.

That did it!  Looks awesome.  I fly for Delta virtual so I'm in to Orlando all the time, and it was getting annoying there being 5 planes.  Thanks again. Smiley

edit: sorry one more question.  The afcad that I said add an ILS actually also added another runway.  Is there any way to get these too afcads to work together?

Negative, but an ILS can be added in AF2 from Insert Navaid - ILS
