A great thing about cruising the newspaper is that you never know just what you're apt to find. For example, take the item in Tuesday's Business section about an idea floating around to pack more passengers into airliners.
To maximize efficiency, airlines are trying to use every bit of space by cramming in seats just about everywhere possible. Anyone who's been on an airliner recently is familiar with the drill. It seems to be a losing battle — some passengers insist on passing off their steamer trunks as carry-on baggage, but what are you going to do?
Under consideration is an idea to add standing-room-only sections to jets. You read that right: For the price of an airline ticket, you can stand all the way to your destination.
According to the article, passengers in the standing section would be harnessed to a padded backboard. The image of a carnival ride known as the "Roundup" springs to mind.
As a transportation idea, it's not the weirdest one we've ever seen, but it's right up there. OK, so you navigate everything you have to these days to get on an airplane only to stand up during the flight.
What's next? Lashing chicken cages to the roof? Happy landings. /quote]

Imagine a 5hr flight with turbulance so u cant walk around, and you have to stand the entire time

They can call it "Suicide" class.
