I kept record, i had 9 requests from SimV people about configuring Multiplayer for D-link wired and wireless routers. so i made my tutorial.

mods, if you can, please sticky this.

to configure your router, you need a couple things.

your Computer IP (the one used by the world
your Network IP (the one from your router)
the default Gateway

to get your network IP and Default Gateway,

Start > Run. Type 'cmd' and hit enter.
in the command prompt, type 'ipconfig' (shown in red)



what you need is highlighted in green (I blacked out the last digits of my network IP)

open your Browser of prefrence (Firefox, IE, Opera, etc..)

type the default gateway in your URL bar (http://192.168.0.1 is default)



a login screen will pop up
if you didnt mess with your router, then the defaults are

either 'admin' ' password' or 'admin' and no password. i've heard both are the case from various people.



if you cannot login, reset your router.
if your router is locked due to parental control, ISP control, etc... there is nothing further you can do, excpt reset your router (all presonal prefrences are ERASED)

if you did login
go to the advanced tab up top, and then the Firewall tab on the left

tick 'enable'
name the rule
in the IP Source Start, put the asterisk in ( * ).
in the IP Destination Source start,  put in your Network IP.

leave the IP Range ends blank

in the ports, put in the ones highlighted above
set the protocol to Asterisk ( * )

you can choose to have this port open only at certain times (like a dedicated Flight Sim hour).


you must do this same IP procedue for ports 2300-2400
and other ports that may need to be open



now if you are still having trouble, or you want full availablitiy, use DMZ

DeMilitarized Zone

click DMZ and type the lat 3 numbers of your network IP
tick enable
click apply



that will do it!

now you can bwcome like me, and host your own servers.
