Oshkosh? No.

This time you could vote which country you wanted it to be at. Then the arrangers picked a suitable airport.

Basically it could be any airport. As long is there's a sufficient runway, and it isn't to high above sea level.

Maybe we can go to my hometown airport Smiley

Its Toledo Express, In Toledo, Ohio (KTOL)

Its not far above sea level and has one short runway and 1 nice long one....and plenty of parking spots and places for spectators!!

would prolly be a nice area, however an argument that will come up is we have already done one in the US, so another country would be good?

I'd want to do it at somewhere like Sion in Switzerland. The mountains aren't right on top of the base so there enough room but it would make for a lot more interesting than just another normal airport.
Thats what I think anyway.

In that case, I'd say RIAT (Cosford). Also, where do they hold that International French Airshow? Where all the Airbuses (Airbi?) are introduced.. ?

RIAT is held at RAF Fairford, the show at Cosford is held at RAF Cosford Grin

And the other. Probably the Paris Air Show (held at Le Bourget).

how about we establish a home SimV airport (like hovercontrol has 4s2 (hood River))

we find an airport to suit our needs. and it can be declared the SimV official airport. Wink

Most have crashes off in MP or anything, little "accdents" are annyoing if there not realistic. As for crashing, on my takeoff for the Airshow my wheels seemed to be locked into the ground, couldent get up so i plowed through about 10 neibourhoods and we all had some fun (at my expence) lol

By the way, will there be deticated Perimedics at the next airshow?  Wink Grin

Oooooohhhhh . . . I like that idea!  I would love to help design some of the scenery around there (buildings, mostly).

My vote is for somewhere with a few hills around, like a Hawaiian base, or at least somewhere on a coast.  I'm really getting to adore island-hopping.

And I WOULD love to do the buildings, in actuality.  I'm getting really proficient with Gmax, and can import over into Runway 12 in a snap.

My landings are bad, don't worry about it Wink Besides you don't need to land if you don't want to, you could display and depart or just end the flight, change back to the Dude and rejoin again, no landing needed! Smiley

if its payware, alot of people wont have it so you wont be able to use it, HOWEVER you can take the payware airfile and place it in a free su 27 that we can get, we wont need the airfile, all we need is the model and texures. There is more you need to do   perhaps someone elce can explane it better.

well the airfile is not a problem with the freeware plane it's just because i dont see any geardoors, engine nozzles, canopy , and i can look straight through the engine from the front to the back.

That sounds more like a problem with your hardware, rather than the aircraft itself.

I know for a fact that there is a decent set of SU-27s out there (here on SimV, too), just use the search.

I would like to participate in the next airshow also.... maybe display?? I have been practicing in the F-16 and such A/C, so if it's ok with the setteruppers (hey i dont have a better word) of the airshow, maybe I could do a F-16 display or F-86. Whatever

High Flight Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up the long delirious, burning blue, I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace Where never lark, or even eagle flew - And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod The high untresspassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand and touched the face of God.&&

I think we had plans for a fly-in with default aircraft, but we never really followed the idea through.

If we had a whole airshow as default, there would be little variation, and probably less people willing to take part. (I for one am pretty terrible at displaying any of the default aircraft!)

I mean, we've got to have military jets and warbirds in the show! Grin

Hmm... not too sure really. I would have thought the different repaints wouldn't show, and therefore neither would the aircraft (probably different models, too).

Just a note, I'm not on the organizing commitee for the Airshows, Cspyro and Tweek did an amazing job to-gether. I did however chase away that idiot who tried to ruin everything.  I threatened to send a virus his way that even his great great grandchildren would have to deal with 50 years from now... Wink I am looking forward to the next one though and Cspyro and Tweek know they can count on me to help whenever and wherever needed.

So what's the story behind that? Tongue

Finally I Can post on the Simviation Forums!!! For some odd reason whenever i tried to join the forums, after entering my information, and clicking to agree to the terms, and clicking submit, it would never go to the next page...but somehow finally, it did!!
So anyways....
I would like to notify whomever is organizing the next SimV Airshow that the Virtual Airforce that I am attached to would like to perform a couple of demos for you all.  The first is a single-ship F/A-18 F Super Hornet Demo performed by myself, using the FSKBT(sp?) Hornet.  The next is a 2/3 ship Christien Eagle Display, and the third the crown cherry on the top of all of your sundaes, a 2 ship Su-27 Flanker Demo.  Would whoever is organizing this contact me at westernate@gmail.com.....or visit our VAF on TeamSpeak at 169th.hopto.org.....Ask for Rhino or Icarus.... Thanks a lot, and see ya soon!

Now that does sound good!

Do you have others from your virtual air force who would be willing to participate, then?

I like the sound of a virtual airforce visiting too Cheesy

However, the FS KBT Hornet is 31mb in size, and some dial-up users may have problems downloading it..... if you do decide to bring a few of your airforce chaps, could you find a smaller filesize hornet and put the .CFG and .AIR files into it? I'm sure many people would be grateful, and we'd all get to see a great display! Smiley

Now its just like a real airshow! we have a bunch of individuals or pairs fly, then the main attraction! this will be so cool. And please do find a smaller jet.. i have broadband and i personally would be fine but for the dial-up users most wont want to download it.

Ok so here is the deal.
A lot of our AC are Payware, but what we will do, is grab some small size aircraft on simv, come into the airshow as those ac, and then switch to our ac....if that would be acceptable to you all....i will ask who all would like to participate, but the demo pilots for the 2 group teams, one of them being myself, would like to know asap when this show will be....i would prefer a saturday night say 7 central if at all possible....just let me know

Yep, as Cspyro said, that would be ok.

However, 7pm Central time would be a little too late for those of us over here in Europe! As we have Americans and Europeans who usually participate, we try to accomodate times for everyone, 5pm UK time seems to work for everyone, as the show runs for a good 2/3/4 hours. This would mean that you Americans would be flying in the morning (from around 11am ish, depending on the time zone), and those furthest down the line, such as those in Denmark, would be flying in the evening (from around 6pm). Wink

Indeed. We can always work the programme around times that people can display, though there will be no definite guarantees as to whether it can fit around working hours (hence why we host it on a Saturday).

Sure, that's only one day after my exams finish, so I won't have had much time to organise it with Cspyro anyway. It would have to be at least 2/3 weeks after that.

Thinking perhaps Saturday 24th June... doesn't seem to be much happening then. I know the first weekend of July is a bit inconvenient, as the Waddington/Cambrai/Koksijde airshows are all then.

17th will be a little too soon after my exams, so it won't leave much time for organisation.

I can't make Saturday 8th July, or the 14th, so...

We'll have to talk this over!

Sounds good, also.

However, may I advise you to practice, perhaps on a multiplayer server with a fair few people on. Last time, one of the displays, which was supposed to have 2 Hawks in formation, went wrong because of the lag caused by the rest of the people at the show.

Another thing, would be to pair up with someone with a high connection speed.

6 polys I think you'll find Wink

The default Schweizer glider seemed to work well last time, but if someone can make a box, it would be ok, aswell!

I think we should go with Airshow_Lover's idea of using the Paper aeroplane if nobody makes a cube or something similar - only 50 polys, and it would be pretty funny to see lots of paper aeroplanes watching the show Cheesy

The only problem with your server, Ramos, is that over here, we don't get the best connection to the server, more 150/200 ping, as opposed to 50 or so on Sam's server.

I'm not entirely sure how many Americans flew in the show last time, but I have a feeling it was a majority of Europeans, best suited to Sam's server. This would of course be an advantage with formation flying.

Hope you understand Smiley

the server (aka my computer) is based in suburban Chicago, IL. so ping times around the states have no problem. I've had people on from the UK saying ping time was god for being across the pond.

however people from different areas get different connections.
