I know its not even close to the real models, and it not for any game, but i thought i a did pretty good job making a 28cylinder engine with a prop. Grin

...
Here's a transparency to see all the parts and pistons
...
This is the mock-up without fancy coloring..
...
And this is.....well chrome

comes complete with 28 pistons,28 piston rods, 4 piston union thingies, and an engine block(s)  Grin and you cant forget the 28 pins that hold the piston rods to the connecter star.

This was made in ProDesktop for a class i am taking  Grin i made this to freeze or crash my teacher's computer  Grin
and every part is animated so if you grab the crankshaft all the pistons move and the prop turns  Grin

What do I do you ask? I struggle! Then destroy! Then try to put back together what I just broke on accident.....&&&&&&&&&&                        The GMax effect... The GMax effect

Wowee! Shocked Cheesy

That's spiffy!  I just wish it were applicable to FS.  Wouldn't it be fascinating to see all that stuff moving while the engines click over?

I mean, I know its possible, but would absolutely kill even a top-end machine.  Too bad . . .

hehe...

I've toyed with the idea of animating rocker valves on a rotary engine, but the fact is that when the engine is on, you wouldn't see any detail at all!

Now, the visible R-4360!....

Either way, with all our poking fun and joking, I can appreciate the work and detail that went into Falcon's engine...

Yes it is, the propellors can do a 360, but it still looks alright.

No you would want this in FS, my computer can't really animate it when it's in stick mode (like the first pic but with out the filling between the lines) let alone pasted with textures.

It only took me 14 hours i think  Roll Eyes

here's another view
...

I also thought of making an Allison V-1710

Nice one !

A good friend of mine builds R/C nitro engines in real, he once build a 400 ccm 18 cyl. radial engine for a customer, as far as I know. He develops engines himself, pretty cool, he has got a website, can give you the link if anyone wants....
