She's a staunch one, all right- congratulations to her!  About time!!
I hadn't heard her story before- amazing.
I've never jumped, but I've met some paratroopers who'd agree that a night jump from 300 feet is not for sissies!!

I'd hate to dampen everyone's enthusiasm, but it seems the criteria for earning wings was five jumps - something she never did.  Simple as that.  I'm no expert on the matter, but I would consider this a case of special treatment.  I wonder how other veterans who have earned their wings feel about this.

For once I'd venture to disagree. To be strictly correct 5 jumps needed to be completed under normal circumstances, however, in this case she jumped operationally before she'd completed to normal number of training jumps.

The fact that she jumped operationally in to occupied territory would merit the award of wings in this case. Smiley
