SimViators....the SimV Airshow is back!

That's right...and this time, you are able to vote for which country you want to see the airshow held in! USA, UK, Denmark, a wide variety of countries to choose from!
The airfield at which the show will be held at is being chosen by Tweek and I, but we're sure our choice won't let you down.
Vote now, and if you are interested in turning up, say so! Further information will be coming soon by Tweek and I - Keep an eye on the Multiplayer froums!

Dust off your display aircraft....we hope for a great turnout!

(Any further questions should be aimed at Tweek or myself)

With the new VOZ scenery for Australia, I believe we should have the airshow in Australia.

Here is the link for those who need it.

We did test airfields in Switzerland, but displaying aircraft can be pretty tricky up there. The moutains are one huge obstacle for heavies, and props have trouble with performance at the high altitudes.

Yea, Karup or Tune (Roskilde airport, EKRK) would be a good choice Smiley
Tune has two runways and a parking terminal, and since it's a small airport, it's easy to find around Smiley

Probably also a framerate issue...

How about Cape-town?

Has a lot of space... not alot of scenery around it.. is an open vastness!

Well there were a few heavies last time, and we'd probably want to keep that up this time. Variation = good!

Maybe next time Wink We're planning for the show to take place, perhaps some time in the Easter Holiday, when most people will have more time on their hands, so ideally, any sceneries used should be finished already.

I voted USA myself. Perhapse some where in Florida? Nice and flat there. Plenty of senery. Use to go to the Pensicola show alot. Theres one down there where the whole show takes place over the water but I forget which beach. I was stationed at Charelston AFB in Charelston SC. Are airshows were always nice there too. Plenty of parking at Charleston. We shared the RW with general aviation as well. A full squadron of my C-17s, a little over half a squadron of phasing out (at the time) C-141s, The reserve F-16 "Swampfox" unit in a hanger on the othe side of the airstrip, and the ever popular C-5 (as it was originally a C-5 base). We've had all kinds of guests at our PAX terminal to include Air Force One, His and her 747's for Japanese royalty and during Desert Storm we had a Russian "Condor"  hang out for a few days from the UN back behind are C-5 maintenence hanger. Ahh the memories are just flooding back. I gotta get off work and reload the Chas AFB scenery now!! Grin Grin Grin My 2 cents........

Ha!! No where near!! The centre of it is a desert, but has more rock and red soil than sand. There's also snowy areas, chilly areas (Tasmania, Melbourne) Temperate areas and tropical areas.

As for the airport, I say Avalon down in Victoria, near Melbourne. There is a massive airshow held thier every 2 eyars (I'm going next year). it's nice and open has a long runway for the heavies and easy on frames.

I can't see Italy on the list Grin

But as has been said, it doesn't really matter where it's held. It's just nice to get a preferred place to the majority of people.

I'd also advise people to start thinking of what aircraft they'd like to fly. And if possible, try to find models with low file sizes, for the Fozzers among us! Grin

Like last time, there will be a thread on it, so wait 'til then before you post what aircraft you'll be flying Smiley

Nice one! Perhaps you should fly it at the airshow this time. Smiley The location we've chosen is actually quite suited to that kind of aircraft!

And also, my chosen aircraft is fairly low in file size (2.5mb to be exact), so hopefully this time, you'll have the opportunity to download some of the aircraft Wink
