Or at least it looked that way....
During the first weekend of March, several witnesses reported the crash of a large plane with 4 engines in Beverwijk Holland.
The emergency services immediately responded by sending out half a dozen of ambulances, a medical chopper, firebrigades an the police. The firebrigades arrived first and did find a 747 in the sanddunes... But it was a 4 m detailed model!
Luckely no-one was harmed in the crash, but the model was impounded by the police, and the owners of the model were taken to the police-station for questioning... I guess the bill will follow!

In Dutch, but the photo's speak for themselves!

I had a similar expirience
When i was flying home from Turkey, my relatives was really worried, because the plane i was on, declared a emergency landing (a hydralic faliure, nothing special there..) and they thought we was gonna bellyland in a inferno of fire and stuff (the only thing they know about aircrafts, is that they usually have wings and a engine..)
but we landed safely, a bit faster though, but safe.
and in the terminal they was like "You survived!"

Actually , in those photos the airplane show no damage, so it didn't crash. Looks like they were trying to put it together and the police stopped them lol. *I fly RC models.*

Sorry Ecko... how was I supposed to know...
The plane was a glider of some sort ( interview with the owner). It's mostly made out of polystyrene ( we call it isomo - don't know the english word), so the damage would have been minimal...

To be fair, you've got a point...
The first thing I did when I saw the thread title was switch over to the news and go to the BBC website...

Hmm... I might wanna reconsider my titling strategy and keep these kind of stories in the café or jokes section.
My mistake guys... won't happen again...
