check this out, it's a video of the first output of a japanese satilight that can create 3d images of the earth using stereo cameras.  Notice how it has slopes steeper than vertical.  It can capture objects as small as 2.5m accross.

Quote:
On February 15, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) exhibited the first photographic images captured by the Daichi advanced land observing satellite launched in January. Daichi is equipped with the three types of sensors, including the world’s first Panchromatic Remote-sensing Instrument of Stereo Mapping (PRISM), which simultaneously captures images from three directions to create 3D images of the Earth’s surface.

yep 2.5m minimum object size. It would rearly benifit humanity as a whole as well as the flight sim comunity if the data from this satilight was released to the public.

1. It's spelled "vehicles"
2. Are you referring to the privacy issue that those crazed and over-the-top advocates are talking about?
