I Searched SimV forum for BGLComp and did not read the part where it states BGLComp is a stand-alone-product.

Therefore, is BGLComp a stand-alone-product?

I've double-clicked it and dragged and dropped an XML file into it but no joy.

P.S. MakeMDL.exe works automatically from the Gmax/pluggins folder

BGLComp is a command line utility and does not have a GUI ( graphical user interface) and is really meant to be used in a command (DOS) window. While drag-n-drop might work, if there are errors in the input, you will not see them. You just don't get anything and no clues as to how to fix them. By using a command window, the error(s) will be listed on your screen in that box so you can see what needs to be fixed.

Another thing to do is to put BGLComp in a directory that is in your PATH environment variable. I have mine in the C:\WINNT directory. This way I only have it in one place and can call it from anywhere. Also, adding a Command Prompt to your right click context menu in Windows Explorer is handy and allows you to manuver to your working directory then open a command window there without having to type in a bunch of "CD" (change directory) commands which can be a pain with long file names and spaces.

Well, thanks, Lou you are definitely The Man. I've used computers since DOS2.2 so am familiar with all this old crap; the part I find unbelievable is according to BGLComp, we're still required use it in 2006!

Whatever happened to the twenty-first century I've been hearing about? Man, unbelievable.

Anyway, thanks again for the headsup.

Thanks to Arno Gerretsen for  CompileHelper version 1.0 -- looks cool. And thanks to BLGComp for supplying a FREE compiler.

P.S I've gone thru WIN3, WIN3.1, WIN98, WIN-ME and WIN-XP and didn't even know they could use a Command Prompt.  ???
