I loaded Gmax yesterday and created a simple box. Saving As (nor Exporting) give me the Direct-X fileformat option. any suggestions appreciated.

...

P.S. I've read SimV message re: gmax and it appears to me the obligatory files are installed:
\plugins
FSModelExp.dle
makemdl.exe
makemdl.parts.xml

EDIT:

I went ahead and Save As *.MDL and Gmax created the *.XML file, too. Cool.

here's my plugin pic,

...

What I find you dont have is the msxml4.dll, msxml4a.dll, msxml4r.dll <---- these files are found in your defualt fs2004 folder! and makemdl "Middleman" which can be found here great tool for fixing the exporting of material properties. I found you did not have the makem text document which has the following...

"[Settings]
SaveDir=c:\gmax\plugins
LastDir=C:\Program Files\Gmax\plugins"

which may interupt the use of the plugings, well that's all I know of about now. Copy the names and find the files that I mentioned and you should be on your way to haveing a sucessful export to happen. Wink Grin
