Hey Guys.    Since I asked those questions back in Nov  2005,      I've done as much study as I can on the topic of PCs. As I said then - - - my hobby of study  - - - is never ending.

With you Guys helping me,  I'm getting ready for this fall and the new FSX.     This time I'm sure I wont be getting a piece of junk and may be  upgradeable for many years to come.

I greatly appreciate your patience and help.

Well then cave what are you getting. Remember that FSX is going to be useing Pixel shader 4 and DX10. Things that no card currently supports, so you may have to actually wate for the fall and the launch of DX10 to upgrade.

Cheers

No it dosn't, HOWEVER, It runs pixel shader 3 and DX9C (HDR acceleration). So you should be able to run DX10 for about the first year and a half. So your not going to have to upgrade for about 3 years. After that game companys figure that their target audience has upgraded and will use all the features of DX10 and not even support DX9.

Todays cards are fine, I spoke with someone called tdragger, and they are actually using Direct X 9 cards at the moment.

I think DX10 will just be for some cool effects Smiley

cya

BTW: Shaders 3 dosn't always do HDR, sometimes it's FP- Blending.

Ya, unfortunately my RAM is keeping me from pushing the 4Ghz wall on my processer. The PC3200 just cant take the speed. But it was nice to see that (useing my friends PC24200 OCZ Gold Edition I was able to hit 4.3Ghz stable).

Looks like I'll have my RAM June 10th ish, and my 7900GT at the end of June. Which will give the price time to cool off.

Cheers
