From this end I've heard the words "black", "silver" and "Tucano" mentioned in the same sentence, but don't quote me on that...

That blue really doesn't work against the black. They should either lighten it up and use white or cream, or go with something warmer like orange or red.
Or maybe I just don't like black painted Hawks.
Just a quick Photoshop conversion but you must admit, it does look better.

That's Sqn colours for you though... I always thought the Hawk looked good in royal blue...
You'll be pleased to know though that a Tucano is being specially painted for 207 (R)'s 90th anniversary, and coincidentally the Sqn colours are red and yellow...

Ah well, can't change that then. Perhaps they should have painted the whole Hawk in pale blue and yellow, and done away with the black completely?
Maybe we should have a 'paint your Hawk' MP session where someone picks a Sqn (and therefore the colours to be used), and we see what everyone comes up with...

Edit: Another (very!) quick repaint in Photoshop

Ah, you see, that one isn't black enough for the flight safety people. You could have a mid a collision with something that bright...
