Is anyone else going to get Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter for the XBox 360?  I was just wondering, because I am going to pick mine up tomorrow along with an XBox Live renewal, so if you see Mobius117 online, go easy on me. Grin Wink

It's one of the last games I've got my eye on.  If the gameplay is worth a dead hamster, I might pick it up for PC.  I'm so tired of shooting and two braincelled plots.  If Valve stops producing quality games, my gaming days are pretty much over.  Speaking of which...

My friend has it, he seems to like it, but I kind of have to share the opinion that all these war shooters are starting to get redundent, so this one will be pretty because it's on the 360, it's still running around shooting things, I really wish developers would stop making the same games over and over and try something original for a change.

I agree with you guys on this, there are waaaaaay too many "run-and-gun" shooters out there.  I have played demos for many of these games and couldn't play for more than 5 minutes becuase they are all the same.  That is why I like this game though, you really have to effectively use cover as well as your team and the other assets they give you, and if you do get shot once or twice, you are dead, which really makes it a good, challenging, tactical shooter, which I do tend to enjoy every now and then.  But I do agree with you guys, all this "run-and-gun" crap has to stop.

I saw the trailer for this game.  Just because you use cover doesn't make it different.  It's still a shooter.  The day a game comes out with no guns and isn't lame, I might get interested in games again.

Don't get me wrong, I love guns in real life, but I'm willing to say over 90% of games deal with death and destruction.  It's unimaginative.  Period.  Counter-Strike, Advanced Warfighter, Tomb Raider, FEAR, Halo, Battlefield.  Zzz...

And the plot usually involves you being a highly trained super soldier, yet this training never comes about into gameplay.  Somehow special training is synonymous with being shot 50 times and instantly recover your health with dubious objects with red crosses on them.

The only game I think I would buy anymore is a continuation of the Half Life story, or a cool game like Dino Crisis.  At least in Dino crisis you weren't shooting aliens or Nazis.  You were shooting Dinosaurs. Roll Eyes

There's too many World War II games.  Not that this is a bad thing, but somehow World War II means Normandy.  Or France.  Sometimes North Africa, rarely anything about Russia and the PTO seems to never had existed.  How about, for a change, you're a German or Japanese fighting for freedom against the Allied barbarians?  Yes, I am actually implying you win the game by shooting Americans and Britons.  I'd buy it.  Or how about an terrorist game?  Something different! Angry

The only game I really still love is Generals: Zero Hour.  Still, I think I'm done with games.
