Well?
I just finished "With Hostile Intent" by Robert Gandt. Good novel about Super Hornet drivers and there's a bunch of characters and plot twists. And I just started Clear and Present Danger by Tom Clancy.

Well, not really a book, but I just finished reading the script on the first episode of Stargate Destiny. Took me two days to read a script on an episode that lasts for about 45 minutes [commercials not included].
One of these days, I hope to finish reading "The Giver" and "1984".

I'm in kind of a reading slump at the moment. Can't keep my mind on a story long enough to get interested in a book right now. But I tryed to start reading the new one from Michael Crichton entitled State of Fear. It seemed really good, but like I said, I can't really read right now.

Currently reading for english class. Night...by Elie Wiesel.
Not to far in due to keeping with the class, but interesting
Favorites though were the Left Behind series. Not a religious person really, but is definatly one of the best series I've ever read. I liked how the story just kept moving and each book picked up right where the other left off

Finished "Fall of Berlin" by Anthony Read and David Fisher earlier this year. It was very very good, and had accurate retelling of the war and its' cultural and miltary affects on Berlin, as well as the Battle of Berlin.
I Followed with "Fatherland" by Robert Harris, which is an excellent book about what might've happened if Germany forced America into a Cease-fire and had essentially "Won the War." I Highly recommend it, especially to those of you who like 1984-esque books.
I'm currently reading "Downfall: The End of the Imperial Japanese Empire" by Richard B. Frank. Some of the events before the war with Japan, and then it deals entirely with the last few months of the Pacific War, and what might have happened had we gone in to Invade (Operation Olympic and Coronet and so on.). It's well-written but very factual (think lots of statistics) so it can be a tad tedious at times.
Also, throw in Jane Eyre for my English class right now too.

Decline and Fall by Evelyn Waugh is my latest read. Also plodding steadly along with the Master and Commander series.
My biggest recommendation though is Riotous Assembly by Tom Sharpe. Funniest book I've ever read.
Woodlouse2002 PITA and BAR!!!!!!!!&&&&Our Sovereign Lord the King chargeth and commandeth all persons, being assembled, immediately to disperse themselves, and peaceably to depart to their habitations, or to their lawful business, upon the pains contained in the Act made in the first year of King George the First for preventing tumults and riotous assemblies. If you liked that you may like to try and get hold of "SS-GB" by Len Deighton, set in a post 1940 invasion Britain under Nazi control. Fascinating read...

Sorry I can't prove it...but just ask my parents...I got the book at 11 p.m. on July 16th when the book came out in the States...and by 2 a.m, I was nearing the end...Oh well...I read Da Vinci Code a while back...like 4-5 months ago...
I love reading...one of my favorite pass times besides FS and...um...other stuff

I don't read much anymore, but I did get a nice chunky book about the history of aviation - entitled "Flight - 100 years of aviation" written by R.G. Grant, lots of info in here
Other than that, no, I haven't read any good books lately

I used to read like that. But I take my time now. Take Moby Dick for example, I started that christmas day 2003 and have only got to chapter 14. Admittedly I havn't read any of it since 2004 cause it's boring but you get the picture.
So I now put this question forward:
Ashar, what happens in the first 3/4 of Harry Potter?
Woodlouse2002 PITA and BAR!!!!!!!!&&&&Our Sovereign Lord the King chargeth and commandeth all persons, being assembled, immediately to disperse themselves, and peaceably to depart to their habitations, or to their lawful business, upon the pains contained in the Act made in the first year of King George the First for preventing tumults and riotous assemblies. Finished Downfall awhile back, then followed with Robert Harris' "Archangel." It's an excellent book centered in Moscow and the City of Archangel in Russia. It has to do with Stalin and his secret diary. Excellent read, i'd be lying if I said I wasn't depressed when it ended!
Currently read Soldat, which is about Siegfried Knappe (well, he's telling the story, but it is translated), a Wehrmacht soldier who fought in almost every major german campaign and got wounded as well. He even fought in Berlin and stayed until May 1st where he surrendered to the Russians with Weidling and Co, and then spent five years in a Russian POW camp and then eventually getting to the west. It also includes 16 pages of photos he smuggled into the west. It starts with Berlin in April 1945, which is familiar territory for me (see: Fall of Berlin I read a few months ago).

Sqn Ldr Bob Iveson would disagree when his Harrier was shot down at 100' @ 450kts!...
I think we lost a total of 9 or 10. 4 Gr.3 (3 to enemy ground fire, one engine failure*) and the others were SHARs (2 ground fire/SAM, 1 exploded after take off, 2 are thought collided whilst on a night CAP, and one fell off it's ship whilst waiting to take off)...
*It was forced landed by its pilot, who, 20 year later was to be Chief of the Air Staff...
What was amazing is that in 25 years of service, including a war against a not under equipped air force, the Sea Harrier never lost in air to air combat...

Have any of you guys read any books by John J. Nance?
I have read about 6 of his books, they all have aviation related themes and are very hard to put down once you start reading. I think the best one I have read was Pandora's Clock.
