I was just messing around with a model to try to get used to modeling, when I try to export as a .mdl I get these two errors. ???
I am very new to AC modeling, so it could be something very simple.
Thanks for any help,

First one:
Go to Customize > Unit Setup > Check Metric > Select Meters in drop-down menu.
Then go to Customize > Preferences > General Tab > Make sure 1 Unit = 1.0 Meters.
You should read Grid = 10m on the bottom-right corner of the viewport after all this.
For the second one:
Make sure you have done the following:
1. If you are using the new hierarchy-export method, then make sure all objects have the X-Form modifier applied > select all > reset scale by going to Hierarchy Tab > and then clicking on Scale at the bottom.

Thanks,
that cleared up the first one, but I dont even know what the new hierarchy-export method is. Again I am very very new to modeling and have never exported before. I am just going File>Export, and saving as a Flightsim Aircraft Object (*.MDL), and I still get the second error

Ah, I see.
Try going to these links. These will direct you to the forums. These links talk about the new export method used in Gmax and what steps are taken.
http://www.aerodynamika.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=FS901;action=display;num...
http://www.aerodynamika.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=XML;action=display;num=1...
Please note that you need MDLCommander and Middleman so that you can have full control of the export process. I don't know where to get them. I just hope someone around here might point them out.
Good luck on your projects.

First of all, you will find that the gmax export errors leave a lot to be desired. Make sure that you do have makemdl.exe in your gmax plugins folder. Let's take care of the obvious things first.
See attachment for location of makemdl.exe.
If you do not have it, you will need to download and install it. That's another issue and we will address that if this be the case.
If you have it, then you need to find the error log and view the error messages for details of your problem. You will find the error log in the folder to which you are exporting. If you have that, open with notepad, copy paste the contents back here on the forum so we can help.
The new hierarchy method is not required (though preferred by some) as you will note in the gmax source you are working with. You may have the exterior and interior models grouped as the AC500 has.
All parts of the aircraft must belong to either the exterior or interior models. You cannot export the source with extraneous parts (or with frozen or hidden parts).
Each of the models must either be grouped (as the ac500 is) or all parts linked to a hi-level node (or small object) named exterior or interior.
The groups or nodes must have the Local Coordinate System pivot, and/or their standard pivot, at the 0,0,0 x,y,z coordinate position at the crosshairs on the gmax grid. The interior and exterior models must occupy identical space coordinates otherwise your VC views will be off.
The aircraft should be placed on the grid (press G to see the grid) so that the crosshairs are centerline of the aircraft (from top view), at or near the thrustline (some exceptions depending on aircraft) and 1/4 distance back from the leading edge of the wing root. This really makes the flight model easier to work with, and the crosshairs become the sim's reference point.

Well I cant figure it out, but like I said before, I am new at this, and dont know anything about it. I just downloaded a source file and I messed with some things to get to know what different things do in FS.
Anyway here is the error report:

Okay, great. There is the issue.
ERROR: found scale matrix without scale animation (frm-lever_pedals_l_r_01) det=0.999997
Scale matrix errors is one of the reasons designers like to get away from the Exterior/Interior groups and use the hierarchy linking method instead.
To correct this error, you need to open the model with lever_pedals_l_r_01 and reset the Scale.
Here's how:
1. Select the Interior model
2. Under Group, select Open
3. Under the Select by Name button, select this part (notice there are similar parts _02,_03, etc that you must also reset)
4. Select the Hierarchy Icon top right
5. Select Affect Pivot Only
6. Select Reset Scale at the bottom.
Repeat 3-6 for other similarly named parts
7. Now go back to the Group Menu and Close the Interior model.
8. You are ready to Export again.
